Originally from Denver, Colorado, Blake's own recovery journey led her to Austin, TX. "My life today is so much brighter than it ever was. What I lacked was my sense of self and now I have the tools to stay healthy. I know what it's like to feel lost. Now I'm on the path of finding myself. Helping our clients find their purpose and joys in life again is the ultimate reward for me. Dr. Nadia Bening

Nadia Bening, MD. is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She received her undergraduate education from Texas A&M University followed by her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She completed a psychiatry residency in Austin, Texas, where she enjoyed her leadership role as Chief Resident. Dr. Bening wholeheartedly believes in the utilization of a holistic treatment approach. She pays special attention to individual needs as shaped by each client's personal history, his or her specific context, and stressful or traumatic life experiences or circumstances, all of which she approaches with patience, warmth, and understanding that facilitate treatment as well the client's sense of comfort and trust. Dr. Bening has over a decade of experience in traditional outpatient psychiatric clinical settings, private residential facilities, drug and alcohol recovery centers, and transcranial magnetic stimulation. A lifelong learner, she received her certification as a Brain Health Coach through the prestigious Amen Clinics; it is her hope that clients experience a feeling of empowerment when in her care, and are equipped to take charge of their well-being, having confidence that they possess the ability and tools to create brain-healthy habits for life. When she's away from work, Dr. Bening is busy wrangling her 3 little cowboys, laughing with her husband, leading youth small groups, reading, cooking, taking long walks, or sweating it out in a spin class. She is enthusiastic and honored to be working alongside the exemplary team at Sage Recovery and Wellness.

Erin is a Licensed Master Social Worker with nine years of experience working with children and families in child welfare, substance use treatment, and hospital settings. Her years of supporting clients who navigate challenging systems has highlighted the importance of connection. She believes it is imperative to build a strong support system to aid in the recovery journey. Erin operates from the belief that, "we are all doing the best we can with the tools we have at the time." Her goal is to provide a safe environment to empower clients to learn new coping skills and make lasting desired change in their lives. Jose is a strong advocate for people living with substance use and/or mental health challenges and conveys his own lived experience to any environment, to break the stigma of people who have been system-impacted. Over the past 10 years, Jose has worked with youth and adults in various treatment settings and is passionate about supporting people along their journey to recovery. Jose is also a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, Internationally Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor, Substance Abuse Professional, Internationally Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional, Justice Involved Re-Entry Peer Specialist, and Community Health Worker. Jose is a graduate of the San Antonio College where he earned an Associates of Applied Sciences in Human Services w/ a Specialization in Addictions Counseling, as well as The University of Texas A&M-San Antonio, where he earned a B.A.A.S in Social Sciences. He is currently working towards a graduate degree in clinical mental health counseling. On his off time Jose enjoys spending time with his significant other and his three step-daughters, acting silly with his two pups Polo and Eliana, and engaging in sports related activities such as sand volleyball, softball, and basketball. Joining the Sage team more than 2 years ago has been a fulfilling experience, as I continue to expand my knowledge in an industry that is constantly evolving. In my current role, I focus on a topic that I believe is still considered "taboo" within the Hispanic/Latino community. Through my work, I aim to raise awareness and educate others about the importance of medical billing and coding in healthcare. Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my two kids and exploring our community. Whether it's trying out new restaurants or visiting local parks and museums, I cherish every moment with my family.

"With over 12 years of dedicated service in the Air Force Reserves/National Guard, I have had the incredible opportunity to travel and develop in ways I never thought possible. As my time with the military comes to a close, I am proud to reflect on my two deployments and many short tours which have helped me develop a unique perspective and set of skills. While I am a 6th generation Texan, I am somewhat new to Austin since relocating here with my partner in the summer of 2021. We are thrilled with the many adventures and opportunities that Austin has to offer. As an Executive Assistant, I am honored to serve as Tiffany Anschutz's right-hand woman. Sarah provides individual & family counseling along with group therapy for a local non-profit substance abuse organization. Sarah is originally from Florida but has been in Texas since January of 2018 where she continues her work as an Addictions Counselor. She received her Masters of Social Work from the University of West Florida with a focus on treating addiction. Sarah has developed a strong sense of devotion for the field of addictions from working in the field since 2003. She is skilled in using CBT, Motivational Interviewing techniques, Solution-Focused Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy to empower and help her client's recover from addiction. Her experiences in working at child abuse & domestic violence agencies, inpatient/outpatient substance abuse clinics, hospitals, correctional facilities, detox units and many more have given her an even deeper motivation on trying to improve the quality of life that continues to be taken by the disease of addiction. Prior to opening Sage Recovery, Tiffany had clinical experience in high schools, intensive psychiatric care, inpatient detox, and intensive outpatient programming, as well as administrative roles creating clinical procedures, resource databases, and auditing for regulatory compliance. In her varied experience, Tiffany knew there were elements that were missing that could make a larger impact in the success rate of a client's recovery and mental wellness. This led her to open the doors to Sage Recovery & Wellness Center in 2014 and Sage Recovery Villa, a residential treatment center for adults in 2018. Tiffany is passionate about community outreach, education and helping future Social Workers by serving as Co-Chair on the Dean's Advisory Board at the The University of Texas at Austin Steve Hicks School of Social Work.
