To foster lasting peace, build bridges of understanding, and empower communities, The Somali American Peace Council (SAPC) is dedicated to facilitating strong relationships between Somalis, the international world, and Minnesota. We strive to amplify the voices of the voiceless, address urgent issues affecting the Somali people, and promote unity through impactful programs and initiatives... Our first program, Sports 4 Peace, aims to connect to Somali youth through sports and physical education by building community, promoting peace, and focusing on healthy lifestyles. Sports 4 Peace strives to involve Somali youth in the community to prevent them from violence here in Minnesota and abroad.
