SKILLBUILD - Key Persons

Bill has an electrical trade qualification and has been a Contractor for 30 years in 5 States and Territories He has also taught in Secondary Schools and TAFE, having completed an Education Degree. Bill also has qualifications in Renewable Energy, Telecommunications Cabling and Air Conditioning. Bill's role is training delivery and course material development. His passion is renewable energy and lives in Albury with Jo in an ‘off grid' house in the middle of town.

Billie is an A grade Electrician and Registered Electrical Contractor, and has been working in the industry for 32 years. Billie holds CEC accredited for Solar, Battery Storage and SPS. She is an advocate for Women in trades and loves sharing her knowledge as part of the Skillbuild team. As a Diploma qualified trades teacher, Billie has taught students from VCAL right through to licensing. Billie is co owner of M&B Electrical and lives on an Off Grid Property on the Mid North Coast of NSW. When not Training with Skillbuild both her and Mick complete Installation and Maintenance work within the Solar industry.

Jo has an Arts and Education Degree and taught in secondary schools in the ACT, NSW, Victoria and the NT before moving into the training sector. She has worked for training organisations in the NT delivering business, health and training qualifications. Jo has been a partner in an Electrical Contracting business for 20 years and has experienced the ‘joys' of book keeping, managing staff and completing compliance paperwork. Her role as the CEO for Skillbuild entails all documentation, compliance and finance.

Mark lives in Alice Springs and as an Electrical Contractor focuses on Renewable Energy Installations. Mark delivers the Off Grid Course for Skillbuild, as he has a wealth of experience in this area. He has consulted for several organisations, having travelled to Papua New Guinea to scope jobs for other companies.

Mick has a Cert 4 in Electrical - Renewable Energy, is an A grade Electrician and Registered Electrical contractor. He is also CEC accredited for Solar Storage and Stand Alone Power Systems. Mick has been working in the industry 40 years and in solar for the past 11 years. Mick is passionate about the advancements in both Renewables and Storage. Living in the Nambucca Valley, Mick and his wife Billie run Sustainable Country Lifestyles. They are Approved Solar Retailers in both NSW and Victoria and Mick specialises in repairs, maintenance and optimisation of existing systems both on and off grid as well as new installations. Their 1890's home has been converted back to a fully off grid system. As a Diploma qualified trainer, teaching with Skillbuild allows Mick to share his passion and experience to the industry.

Neil has three Trades; Electrical, AC/Refrigeration and Heavy Diesel. He has been a Trainer for Skillbuild for 8 years and delivers our courses all over Australia. He also builds the Network Protection Units for Commercial Solar for our Contracting business. Neil lives off grid in Brockelsby near Albury and is delivering training courses in Electric Vehicles for Auto Technicians. Neil is our EV specialist and has completed training in the US and UK in charging solutions and working on EVs. Our students appreciate Neil's vast workplace knowledge and experience. He grew up in WA and worked in the Mines for years before starting Training for Westrac (Caterpillar).

Sue worked as a Librarian for over 30 years in Qld, specialising in digital preservation and event coordination. She has degrees in Arts and Library Science and Children's Literature, and a Diploma of Project Management. After moving to Albury, NSW, Sue has brought her organisational skills to the role of Administration Manager with Skillbuild.
