PRACTICE AREAS Business & General Litigation Clayton White is a Partner with Sternberg, Naccari & White, LLC, and is well-known throughout the Gulf Coast as an entrepreneur, lawyer and connector with a reputation for zealous advocacy for his clients. Clayton has over 25 years experience working with start-up and early-stage companies. His background includes organizational structure, mergers and acquisitions, financial management and controls, capital structure, and corporate governance. He has been to the closing table from all sides, buying, selling, and closing transactions as counsel to Buyers and Sellers. He is experienced in planning, capitalization, and exit strategies. Clayton is a member and organizer of the South Coast Angel Fund. The South Coast Angel Fund is a member-managed angel capital fund designed to utilize the capital, resources, and expertise of its members to profit from its investments in entrepreneurial, early-stage companies in Louisiana. Clayton has an B.S. in Physics, an MBA, and a Juris Doctor. He is a member of the Louisiana and Alabama Bar. He sits on the boards of several companies, non-profits, and community organizations.

John "Jacob" Chapman

John "Jacob" Chapman graduated cum laude from LSU's Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2010. His primary practice areas include business litigation; general liability and products liability defense; insurance coverage and defense; medical malpractice; labor and employment; family law; and state and municipal civil service law. Jacob is experienced drafting and reviewing all forms of contracts, including: employment agreements, non-competition agreements, operating agreements, independent contractor agreements, sales and lease documents, construction contracts, etc. He has represented contractors and homebuilders in New Home Warranty Act and related breach of contract claims. He has also represented physicians, hospitals, and other medical professionals at every stage of litigation, from the medical review panel all the way through the Louisiana Supreme Court. Jacob is a member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, and The Baton Rouge Lawyer Publications Committee. He is licensed to practice in all State and Federal Courts in Louisiana and at the Federal Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has earned a reputation as an effective litigator.

Johnston Burkhardt

Johnston Burkhardt joined Sternberg, Naccari & White in 2021. Johnsto n works closely with the firm's associated title company, Quality Title, and works from both the Metairie and New Orleans offices. His practice focuses on real estate transactions, general counsel services, divorce and marital agreements, and general litigation. A lifelong New Orleanian, Johnston's interest in the law began when he was selected in high school for the Louisiana State Bar Association student internship program. He graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in General Business, and then obtained his Juris Doctor and Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law from the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center, where he served as Senior Articles Editor for the Journal of Energy Law and Resources, Volume VII. Johnston is associated with the Louisiana, Orleans, and Jefferson Bar Associations and the St. Thomas Moore Catholic Lawyers Association. He is a former "40 under 40" honoree for the Youth Empowerment Program. While in law school at LSU, Johnston served as legal extern for the Hon. Erin Wilder-Doomes, a Magistrate Judge at the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana. He also clerked during his 2L summer for the Honorable Fredericka H. Wicker at the Louisiana Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal. Notably, while a law student at LSU, Johnston was SNW's very first law clerk. He returned to the firm as an attorney after practicing family law in downtown New Orleans. Johnston is an accomplished artist, enjoys playing tennis, traveling, and cooking. While studying for the bar and preparing to practice law, Johnston was the campaign manager for a prominent Judge running for an open seat on the Louisiana Supreme Court.

Joseph Marriott

Joseph Marriott earned his Juris Doctorate from Loyola University of New Orleans College of Law. He received his civil law degree and a certificate in tax law. While at Loyola, he was an active member in several student organizations including the Real Estate Law Society, Student Bar Association, Tax Law Society, and Tax Law Clinic. Additionally, Joseph stayed active in the New Orleans real estate industry by working as a legal clerk for the New Orleans commercial real estate firm of NAI Latter & Blum. Originally, from Bettendorf, Iowa, Joseph relocated to New Orleans just prior to Hurricane Katrina. In post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans, Joseph met his wife Linsey and received his B.A. from Tulane University. Prior to pursuing his law degree, he spent several years in the private sector where he worked as a manager in the construction and hospitality industry. In addition to practicing law, Joseph is a Louisiana licensed real estate and title insurance agent. He is active in several civic organizations including the New Orleans Bar Association Real Property Section, Louisiana Land Title Association, New Orleans Regional Council of Business Economics, and Young Leadership Council of New Orleans. Joseph maintains a successful real estate practice where he represents businesses, banks, lenders, brokers, agents, and individuals in all capacities and forms of commercial and residential real estate transactions and litigation. His practice includes representing parties in sales, purchases, and leasing of real estate, zoning issues, redhibitory defect litigation, contract disputes, and tax title suits. When Joseph is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and young son, Brady, partaking in all the treasures New Orleans has to offer - food, family and friends.

M. Suzanne "Suzy" Montero is a veteran litigator and advocate who brings to the firm a wealth of experience and a specialization in complex litigation. Her name is well known in courtrooms across Louisiana, and her opposing counsel and long-term clients know that every case is her most important matter.
