Chris Davis - Chief Legal Officer, VP

Chris Davis applies his experience with high-growth companies and small business to help the StartBox navigate and accelerate growth beyond corporate, regulatory and administrative challenges. Before joining StartBox, he was a member of a top-tier law firm and a co-owner of a retail and e-commerce company in Washington, DC. Chris holds a JD from George Mason University School of Law and a BS in political science from Texas A&M University. Chris has served on active-duty and in the reserves as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps.

David Lane - CEO, Founder

As Chief Executive Officer of StartBox, David applies his depth of experience as a builder of strong growth companies. Before joining StartBox, David spent over 17 years as a medical device sales leader developing key relationships with surgeons and hospitals in the Southeast, and developing a successful team of over 40 professionals. David holds a BS in Psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. David is a retired United States Marine Corps Officer who served both on active-duty and in the reserves.

John Kerwood - COO

John provides operational expertise thanks to his experience as business manager for a medical device distributorship and site manager for a manufacturing and distribution plant. He leads the manufacturing, operations, budgeting and supports organizational growth of StartBox LLC. He created the business model, conceptual plans and provided oversight for the development of the patient safety convenience kit. John holds a BA in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. He served multiple times on active-duty and continues to serve as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps Reserve.

Kaveh Khajavi - Founder

Dr. Khajavi is a recognized leader in the fields of minimally invasive and complex spine surgery and sports neurosurgery, and has published numerous scholarly articles and book chapters in the fields of spinal and brain disorders. Dr. Khajavi obtained his Medical Degree from Georgetown University on an Air Force scholarship and performed his neurosurgical residency at The Cleveland Clinic. He returned to active duty where he served as Chief of Epilepsy Surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and held academic appointments at the Uniformed Services School of Medicine. Dr. Khajavi is the Neurosurgical Consultant for the Atlanta Falcons, and the Director of Neurosurgery for the Sports Concussion Institute and the Shepherd Center.

Luke Perkins

Luke has spent over 17 years in medical device product management and healthcare marketing. His experience ranges from launching market-making minimally invasive spinal procedures, to shepherding premarket approval of FDA Class III Devices, to integrating computer assisted surgery technologies in the OR. Luke holds a BA in Foreign Language & International Trade from Mississippi College in Clinton, MS and a MBA in International Business from the University of Memphis.

Scott Bland - VP of Sales

Scott brings over 25 years in sales and leadership to the StartBox team. Most recently he served as Vice President of Sales of a molecular diagnostics company and led a team of over 50 people commercializing genomic testing in the endocrinology and pulmonary space. He also led the sales force of a publicly traded cardiovascular diagnostic company and brings over a decade of experience in medical device and pharmaceutical sales. Scott received his BS in Business Administration and MBA from The Citadel. He also served as an officer in the United States Army Reserve.
