Aakash Patel

Aakash joined Chapman Architects in August 2022. He completed his Part 3 at the University of Westminster, becoming a fully qualified Architect in October 2020. Prior to joining the team, Aakash worked for Pace Jefford Moore Architects, where he assisted with the construction of numerous projects in the commercial and residential sectors across London. Aakash believes that diversity and innovation are crucial to ensuring the profession is best placed to respond to changing social and environmental concerns. He believes that well designed spaces can enhance the surrounding environment, and that design should draw upon the local context by responding to the community and space within which in inhabits.

Annie Chapman

Prior to becoming a Director at Chapman Architects, Annie worked for 25 years in the design industry, and for the last 15, she grew her own award-winning landscape design company. Annie is committed to ensuring the smooth running of ‘all that isn't architecture' within the Practice and is determined to oversee and encourage the current growth, without losing Chapman Architect's friendly and approachable quality. Annie recognises that the output of the office is in part, a product of the well-being of the overall team. To this end, she strives to ensure that the office has an active and vibrant environment, and that everyone is well supported.

Ben Smith

Job Titles:
  • Architectural Assistant
Ben joined Chapman Architects in 2023 and is our newest Architectural Assistant. Prior to this, he studied at The University of Portsmouth where he gained his Part I Qualification. Ben was engaged by CA after visiting the Portsmouth Architectural Degree Show; Ben's excellent graphic style really shone out! Ben's interest in sustainability and in creating greener communities will lead him to get involved in our projects where our clients have a commitment to fulfilling BREEAM EXCELLENT, which is becoming a common requirement in Central London. This experience will hopefully offer Ben new thinking to shape his future projects, when he restarts his studies again in 2024.

Chris Longman

Job Titles:
  • Architect
Chris joined CA in 2023 as an Architect, after working in the commercial sector where he has gained experience over all RIBA Stages and from concept to completion. His past experience is very akin to the CA portfolio; Chris has worked on commercial projects and within education, he also has a keen interest in the retail sector and has studied the need for private investment in the high street, to allow retailers to compete with their online rivals. In his last role as a Project Architect, Chris achieved planning permission within the City of London's Fleet Street Conservation Area, and is well versed in working with Central London's unique planning complexities and producing sensitive and innovative solutions while integrating new with old. Chris is a friendly, enthusiastic, and detail-orientated architect. He thrives on collaboration with consultants and contractors to ensure every detail is of the highest quality for the client and community the project serves.

Chris Nixon

Job Titles:
  • Associate
Chris is an experienced Project Architect with extensive practical experience in the design and construct of existing buildings. He has worked on some technically challenging sites with restricted access, mostly sited in Central London. Chris has experience across all RIBA work stages but with a focus on project delivery. He enjoys working with main contractors and specialist sub-contractors to develop design proposals into reality and is particularly skilled in project co-ordination both on-site and with the project design team.

George Thomson

Job Titles:
  • Associate Director
George has worked for Chapman Architects since 2019, achieving promotion to Associate Director in 2022. Although he has worked on a diverse range of projects in a wide variety of sectors during his career, more recently he has specialised in high-end, mixed-use retail and office refurbishments in Mayfair. George's knowledge of New Bond Street buildings is second to none in the office and George has completed no less than 5 buildings from inception to completion during his time with us. George's considered approach ensures that projects run smoothly and that the quality of the build is outstanding, he works with overseas clients who know that they can trust him to deliver in their absence. George has good experience of working with existing listed buildings and preserving their character in a sensitive, yet compelling way, releasing their potential for a purposeful future.

Greg Chapman - Founder

  • Founder
Greg founded Chapman Architects in 2005 and has more than 25 years of professional experience. Previously, Greg worked with both Arup and Bennetts Associates. He is committed to delivering the highest standard of design to all projects, both new build and refurbishment and is involved at every stage. However, Greg has gained particular experience in ensuring that the ‘die is cast' in the initial stages of a project, to ensure it meets the client's brief and presents the best value option. Greg has developed a good rapport and track record with planning authorities, where his straight and open style of presentation, has ensured many successful permissions. Greg is an enthusiast and enjoys the design process. He is keen that the Company exceeds client's expectations in both the design and delivery.

Larisa Dobie

Job Titles:
  • Associate Director
Larisa joined Chapman Architects in 2014 while studying at Greenwich and then Westminster Universities. Her enthusiasm for the design process and her natural and inherent design skills continue to enthuse the whole office. She has worked on numerous projects across a variety of sectors within Chapman Architects, including the Kiln Theatre, a high-end mixed-use refurbishment in Mayfair, and the redevelopment of Portsea Mews. Larisa has gained a great appreciation for the importance of detail in design, and the materials she works with. Her focus is on working with challenging existing buildings, such as the Grade II Listed Painting Rooms in Soho, and a complex shell and core development in Westminster which aims to create a new link extension and an outstanding landscape between two existing buildings.

Olivia Jones

Job Titles:

Olivia joined Chapman Architects in May 2022, whilst completing her first year of postgraduate studies at the University of Portsmouth, where she achieved a First Class Honours. Olivia is one of our Part 1 assis-tants, but she first interned at Haverstock Architects for 16 months, where she helped with the designs of numerous SEN school projects around the South of England and London. Olivia enjoys designing spaces that can have a profound impact on its community whilst also celebrating the site's context. Her favourite part of the design process is engaging with client and end user through sketch and visuals, realising their aspiration within a given brief. It is important to Olivia that her work re-duces our impact on the environment, as we collectively strive towards a carbon neutral footprint.

Shaun Leung

Job Titles:
  • Architectural Assistant
Before joining Chapman Architects in 2022, Shaun gained his Part I qualification at the University of Edinburgh and worked for two years in Europe and Hong Kong as an Architectural Assistant. Most of his experience lies in the technical design stages, working on interesting commercial projects to include the resolution of construction details for a new church, sanctuary and residential tower development for one of the oldest religious institutions in Hong Kong. Shaun is interested in new socio-economic models within the building industry, and particularly the reuse, refurbishment and repurpose of materials and existing structures.
