Alan is a Senior Embryologist and joined us in 1992. As part of the Embryology team Alan is responsible for egg collection, sperm preparation for treatment and also assesses embryo quality to decide if an embryo is suitable for transfer or freezing.
Alan says: "I feel very privileged to be sharing in what is such a personal experience. Our goal is always to give you the very best treatment, for your needs, which gives you the very best chance of having a baby."
Alan is also responsible for quality management within the laboratory, ensuring ongoing administration and checking of results to maintain our high standards of service and care.

Alastair is a consultant anaesthetist who brings a wealth of experience from working in the UK and Australia. He has a variety of anaesthetic clinical interests, including reproductive medicine, anaesthesia for orthopaedic, liver and colorectal surgery and has completed fellowships in advanced airway management and regional anaesthesia.
He completed training across the UK and Australia before starting a consultant role at Manchester Royal Infirmary. Alastair is committed to education after achieving a medical degree (MBChB) and a Masters in Science in Pain Management. Furthermore, he has continued to complete a PG Certificate in Medical Education and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority, as well as holding positions with the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA), including RCoA Tutor and FRCA Examiner.
Alastair provides anaesthetic services to patients undergoing egg collections as part of their fertility treatment. He focuses on providing safe care and takes great pride in working alongside the team at Manchester Fertility.

Amanda is a highly dedicated and experienced healthcare professional - she worked in a private hospital for 35 years. During her time there, she worked in different areas from the being on the wards, surgical, orthopaedics and the day-care unit and supported and cared for her patients along the way.
She is one of our Healthcare Assistants in the clinic, supporting our Nurses team with everyday duties and reassuring patients during treatments.
Amanda says "I have always had an interest in fertility treatments, and being a part of helping others start their journey to parenthood is a great opportunity".

Amar is a Consultant Anaesthetist and part of our highly skilled clinical team. His role is to complete pre-procedure assessments, explaining the sedation process and, crucially, ensuring our patients have the best possible experience during and after their fertility procedures.
Amar is highly educated and trained in his field and has been awarded his Doctor of Medicine (MD), is a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA) and a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FFPMRCA).
Amar prioritises patient safety at all times. He finds satisfaction in knowing his training in the UK allows him to provide good quality care and has equipped him with the skills to make fertility-related procedures more comfortable for patients here at Manchester Fertility.

Andrew is a medical professional with an extensive background in anaesthetic care. With a wealth of experience spanning a wide range of anaesthetic responsibilities, including obstetrics, gynaecology, pre-op, and reproductive medicine, Andrew has worked in the field for many years, helping fertility patients through their egg collections.
Holding the position of Clinical Lead for Anaesthesia in the Department of Reproductive Medicine at St. Mary's Hospital for the last five years and serving as the Clinical Director for Anaesthesia at St. Mary's, Andrew brings unparalleled expertise to our team.
His educational background includes holding an MBChB, FRCA, and BA Hons, and his specialisms lie in anaesthesia for reproductive medicine and gynaecology, with additional expertise as an obstetric anaesthetist at a tertiary centre through subspecialty training.
Andrew is also a dedicated member of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, the Obstetric Anaesthetist's Association, and the Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland, upholding the highest standards of care.

Angela has worked as a registered nurse for over 30 years, both in the NHS and in private practice.
She can usually be found on the ward, looking after our fertility patients during treatment, offering support and working closely with the doctors.
Angela says "I have great compassion for the patients going through treatment and it is very rewarding to see them at the finish, hopefully with good news".

Ann has practiced as a Fertility Counsellor since 2002 and continues to be passionate about this role, having personally experienced fertility issues herself.
Ann is an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the British Infertility Counselling Association (BICA) and has fulfilled the role of Membership Secretary on the BICA Executive Committee.
Ann has a certificate in Couples and Relationship Counselling, and a Diploma in social work. Additionally, qualifications in counselling children and has practiced as a School Counsellor for over ten years.

Anne has over 30 years' experience in Medical Ultrasound including, clinical and managerial roles working in the NHS Teaching Hospitals, District Generals and the Private Sector. Anne's qualifications include a Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography, Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound and Open University Diploma in Health Service Management.
Anne is an active member of the British Medical Ultrasound Society, presenting proffered papers, clinical posters and writing for the BMUS journal over the years. Anne is also a member and accredited trainer in Ultrasound for the British Fertility Society, a member of the British Society for Gynaecological Imaging and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Anne says: "It is a privilege and rewarding to be part of the team helping our patients in the field of fertility."
Becky's qualifications include: Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Radiography, Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound and a Master of Science in Diagnostic Imaging. She is also a member of The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Becky has over 10 years of experience working as an Advanced Practitioner Sonographer and half of that time has been with us here at Manchester Fertility.
She is passionate about her job and continues her professional development by regularly attending medical ultrasound conferences and training. In recent years, she has had several research posters published by the British Medical Ultrasound Society.
Becky says: "As an ultrasonographer I'm part of something great - the journey of patients bringing new life into the world. I truly love helping people and get great satisfaction and fulfilment from my job."
Ceri works as part of our nursing team as a Healthcare Assistant. Her background in patient care is essential for her role here at Manchester Fertility.
She spends her time on the ward caring for our fertility patients throughout their time, especially after their fertility treatments. As a new team member, Ceri is currently undergoing training, including a certification in phlebotomy.
Charlotte is one of the newer Embryology team members here at Manchester Fertility. As a Clinical Embryologist, she is passionate and committed to helping patients become parents.
Before joining the Manchester Fertility team, Charlotte worked as an Embryologist at St Mary's Hospital where she completed the NHS Scientist Training Programme. This involved intensive work-based training and an MSc in Clinical Embryology.
Before her career in Embryology, she furthered her qualifications with an MSc in Reproductive and Developmental Medicine at The University of Sheffield. Here, lectures on embryo/fetal development further ignited her passion for Embryology and led to her pursuing this career wholeheartedly. As part of this qualification, Charlotte conducted research alongside a Consultant Radiologist looking into novel ways of measuring placental function using MRI scanning.
Following her masters, she spent some time working at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals within Obstetrics & Gynaecology and also gained experience at another fertility clinic, shadowing the experts.
A proud member of ARCs, Charlotte is keen on guiding trainee Embryologists and sharing her wealth of knowledge. For her, embarking on a career in Embryology is the perfect union of technical precision within the lab and the human connection with patients. Witnessing the joy of helping patients build families they've longed for brings unparalleled satisfaction. A registered nurse for over 13 years looking after day case and major surgery cases, Claire looks after you on our private ward when you have treatment procedures.
With some of her career spent at the Bridgewater Hospital - the original home of Manchester Fertility - she already has vast experience of taking care of patients going through fertility treatment, a nursing field which is close to her heart.
Claire says: "I've had my own fertility struggles so I can empathise with every patient I support. I love nursing, my aim is to put my patients at ease and ensure their experience is as positive as it can be, with friendliness, compassion and a smile."

Claire is a highly experienced counsellor with a wealth of experience spanning 18 years across various specialisms.
Holding accreditation with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and membership with the British Infertility Counselling Association (BICA), Claire has honed her expertise in a diverse range of settings. These encompass fertility, relationship dynamics, couples counselling, palliative and bereavement support, trauma and loss management, and addressing anxiety and depression.
Throughout her career, Claire has made significant contributions as a fertility counsellor within the NHS and general counsellor in GP surgeries. She has also dedicated many years to working within a charitable organisation, providing trauma and loss counselling for families with children with life-limiting or shortening conditions.

Daniel is the lead anaesthetist here at Manchester Fertility. With eight years experience providing procedural sedation for fertility-related procedures, he is responsible for our team of highly experienced anaesthetists, who provide sedation for fertility-related procedures, helping our patients have a safe and comfortable journey.
With a background in general and obstetric anaesthesia, Daniel also works within the NHS at St. Mary's Hospital in Manchester as a Consultant Anaesthetist, a position he has held since 2001.
A large part of Daniel's role at St. Mary's is working on a delivery suite in the NHS. This means he gets involved with patient care at the beginning of the pregnancy journey here at Manchester Fertility and successful births at St. Mary's.
Academically, he holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists qualifications. Daniel has gone on to gain specialities in high-risk obstetric anaesthesia, procedural sedation, cardio-pulmonary exercise testing and pre-op assessment.

Danielle started with Manchester Fertility in May 2022 as a Patient Advisor. Danielle's role involves helping patients throughout the early stages of their fertility journey with us, supporting them with any initial queries and easing any uncertainties they may have. Before joining the team, Danielle worked in optics for almost a decade.
Deran is devoted to healthcare - she's worked in the field all of her career and re assures and supports our patients when they need it most.
She is one of our Healthcare Assistants in the clinic helping with blood testing, theatre procedures, post-procedure recovery and administration,
Deran says: "I'm very passionate about healthcare and helping people, especially making sure that they're comfortable and at ease. The best part of working at Manchester Fertility is knowing that I play a part in making someone's dream of a family a reality. It's so amazing to know that I can make a positive difference, it's what I love to do."
Donna is part of our Finance Team. She joined Manchester Fertility in October 2019. Her background has always been in accounts; she has previously worked in several industries with most of her experience in the local government environment but loves working in the Health Care sector. Donna's role in accounts is to ensure that patients' payments are transparent and ensure that the process is as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Dr Anamika Rao is our Fertility Consultant with 20 years of experience in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Infertility and Early pregnancy. She has completed her postgraduate training both from India and the UK and is a Fellow of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Dr Rao is also a BFS accredited trainer for IUI, embryo transfer, assisted conception, fertility preservation and management of the infertile couple.

Debbie is our Person Responsible for the Clinic and has worked in embryology for over 30 years. The Embryology Laboratory is where your baby's life begins and where the actual IVF and ICSI procedures are carried out. Debbie is one of the founding members of the team at Manchester Fertility, having worked here since we first opened in 1986. She was a key member of the team who welcomed our very first IVF baby, Philip Hood, born in April 1987. Since then, the Embryology team's expertise has helped create over 7,000 more babies, using the latest technologies and medical advances to ensure that we remain at the forefront of infertility treatments in the UK.
Debbie says: "The fact that I've been here since the very beginning has given me a unique view of infertility causes and its treatments. Over the years treatment advances have achieved so much for so many people. It's an exciting future, and we never stand still - we're constantly researching new methods and ways of overcoming infertility."

Dr Jayeeta Samanta is an obstetrician and gynaecologist specialising in subfertility and reproductive health.
Undergoing her subspeciality training in reproductive medicine in her homeland India, Jayeeta completed her advanced training in subfertility and reproductive health in the UK under the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. She is a British Fertility Society-certified specialist in assisted conception, pelvic ultrasound, male fertility and Quality Management of a fertility clinic. With over 15 years of experience, including five years of training at nearby Saint Mary's Hospital, she has extensive experience to bring to Manchester Fertility patients.
Jayeeta has written several publications and has presented her work widely at national and international conferences. She is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and the British Fertility Society. Her special interests include female fertility problems, three-dimensional ultrasound and risk governance.

Dr Majumder is an experienced Gynaecologist with expertise in infertility, reproductive medicine and laparoscopic surgery.
With special interest in endometriosis, fibroids, adenomyosis, uterine malformations and how these conditions impact fertility, he's part of the team at the Pelvic Pain and Endometriosis Centre at St Mary's Hospita l, one of the largest endometriosis referral centres in the UK.
Dr Majumder performs diagnostic laparoscopy and dye testing to assess fertility and specialises in minimally invasive procedures (laparoscopy and hysteroscopy) to enhance fertility.
He is also a preceptor for trainee doctors who wish to develop skills in advanced laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Bidisha Ghosh is an experienced Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with a particular interest in Reproductive Medicine.
