Dr. Gloria Zhang - Founder, President

Dr. Gloria Zhang is a distinguished scientist, entrepreneur, and an adjunct University professor. Over the past, Dr. Zhang served as the Founder and President of BioVision, Inc., a biotech company in the SF Bay area, which develops and manufactures innovative products for biomedical research and drug discovery markets. BioVision was successfully acquired by a public company in early 2018. Dr. Zhang continued following her passion serving as the Founder and President of AbVision, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company that develops immunotherapies for cancer and infectious diseases to save lives. Dr. Zhang has extensive experiences in biotechnology product development, global marketing and business operations, as well as the team management and leadership skills. Dr. Zhang obtained her Ph.D. in Cell Biology and Postdoctoral studies in Molecular Medicine. Dr. Zhang is the co-inventor for numerous patents on immunotherapy and vaccine development, etc., and published numerous scientific papers in the highest impact journals such as Nature. Dr. Zhang has been honored for numrous research grants and professional awards such as the HHMI Grant, th e Small Business Innovation Research Grant (SBIR), the Outstanding Researcher Award, and won the prestigious R&D 100 Award.

Gordon Yan - CEO, Founder

Gordon Yan is an innovative and productive biological scientist; a successful business leader; the founder of BioVision Inc. Dr. Yan was trained in Biochemistry for his Bachelor of Science Degree, Molecular Biology for his Master of Science Degree, Cellular Biology for his Doctor of Philosophy Degree, and Molecular Medicine for his postdoctoral training in Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) at U-Mass Medical Center. In his over 30 years direct lab bench works, Dr. Yan made many innovations and discoveries into new products, accumulated un-matchable biotech skills and experiences. He designed and set up several modern biotech labs, led BioVision teams developed over 4000 research products marketed worldwide, including, bioassay kits, recombinant proteins, antibodies, etc. basic research tools, covers many research fields. Many of the products have been directly used in cancer research and drug development. In 2018, Dr. Yan lead BioVision Inc. successfully merged with NKY Pharmaceuticals.

Mark Chen - COO, Founder

Dr. Chen is AbVision's founder and has served as a member of AbVision's board of directors and as Chief Operating Officer since December 2018. He was also Founding Chief Scientific Officer until December 2018. Dr. Chen is an immunologist with expertise in antibody design for therapeutic use and new vaccine discovery for the treatment of human cancers and infectious disease. He completed his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University and has a track record of successful leadership roles in R&D, business development, and the marketing of therapeutic antibodies.
