AXEWOODS

Axewoods Co-operative is a not-for-profit volunteer organisation which undertakes a range of Woodland Management activities, by fully qualified and insured members, to both private, public and charitable woodland owners in return for the felled timber. Much of this timber goes into community use via our log bank... We have built a firm on-going relationship with Clinton Estates, National Trust, The Forestry Commission, East Devon District Council and The Donkey Sanctuary with our recent successful projects. Funding has allowed us to train members to NPTC standards and purchase specialist equipment including a powerful log-splitter. We are proud of our steady growth, local support and the interest generated by Forest Research, Permaculture magazine and other publications... Axewoods operates on the basis of exchanging the woodland management service for wood from the managed woodland. We then use that wood to help our members and other people who struggle to keep warm through our Log..
