In 2014 we opened our doors as Base Camp Anchorage Hostel with a focus on creating a welcoming community atmosphere for travelers visiting Alaska. Our passion for the outdoors gives us experience in hiking, bicycling, paragliding and packrafting. We enjoy sharing the beauty of Alaska with travelers with advice on favorite hikes and places to explore. Whether you are planning a multi-day backpacking trip or sightseeing for orca whales and glaciers, we can help you save time and money while having unique and memorable experiences... Nourishing community also means giving back to our local community. Every year we donate a percentage of our revenues to local nonprofit organizations. Environmental sustainability and decreasing our carbon footprint and is important for us. Our hostel has invested in solar panels, cork flooring, triple pain windows, and eco friendly appliances.
