"My work is primarily inspired by nature, drawing on my memories as a child growing up in beautiful rural Vermont, as well as my travels - living in San Diego and now Colorado...
I use traditional metalsmithing techniques to bring my love of nature to life in my limited edition and one-of-a-kind pieces. I enjoy mixing metals to shape each story, layering contrasting textures and colors to create landscapes in metal, and adding dimension, or hidden hand-pierced scenes of nature to my statement pieces. My work usually includes layers of metal, patinas, hand pierced backgrounds, and lost wax casting of live plants."...
I love to incorporate the colors of nature into my pieces, and frequently use gemstones and semi-precious stones to tie in to my memories of nature- such as a white dendritic opal to portray snow falling through the trees in Vermont, or a gorgeous blue labradorite to represent the bio-luminescence on the red tide in San Diego.
