Douglas D. Backous

Dr. Douglas Backous is a board-certified Neurologist specializing in treating conditions of the ear and skull base. He attended Seattle Pacific University before graduating from the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1989. He completed his internship and residency in Otolaryngology -Head and Neck Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, Texas) in 1995. He went on to complete research followed by a clinical fellowship in Neurotology at John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland in 1997. He and his family move back to Seattle to pursue his career, to give back to the community that helped him grow up and be closer to family. For more than 22 years, Dr. Backous has provided leading edge treatments for patients with hearing loss, deafness, chronic ear infection, cholesteatoma acoustic neuromas and facial nerve disorders. His professional passion is ensuring access to care for patients who choose to hear with cochlear implants, brainstem implants, BAHA ™ and other hearing devices. He treats adults and children. Dr. Backous is currently the Board Chair at Seattle Pacific University in Seattle, Washington. He has served on the SPU board since 2011. Both Doug ('84) and his wife, Julie ('86), are alumni of SPU. They have 3 adult children. His medical research interests focus on implantable hearing device program efficiency for improved patient access and program viability. His interests in working with higher education is to improve the value and quality of education offered to students coming from diverse backgrounds. He is also the program director for the Seattle Advanced Otology Fellowship at Puget Sound ENT. Dr. Backous joined Puget Sound ENT in Edmonds, Washington in 2017. He performs surgery at the Edmonds Center for Outpatient Surgery, Swedish Cherry Hill and First Hill and at Swedish Edmonds. He also sees patients in clinic and performs outpatient surgery at the Hillside Surgery Center in Puyallup, Washington to provide local access to high level surgical and specialty care.

Dr. Charles V. Edmond

Dr. Charles V. Edmond received his undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at San Antonio and is a honor graduate of Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. He completed his internship at Tripler Hospital in Honolulu Hawaii and his residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D. C. Following residency, Dr. Edmond spent a year at Methodist Hospital completing a head and neck cancer and cosmetic surgery fellowship. He served at Madigan Army Medical Center as Director of Resident Research and Head of the Head and Oncology Service until starting private practice. Dr. Edmond is board certified with the American Board of Otolaryngology and American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive surgery. He is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons and The Triologic Society. Dr. Edmond and his wife live in Puyallup and have two sons. He enjoys automobile racing, cooking, jazz guitar and sewing.

Dr. Greg Davis

Dr. Greg Davis is an otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat surgeon) who sub-specializes in rhinology, the medical and surgical treatment of nose, sinus and skull base disorders. He has received several awards for excellence in patient care including "Top Doc" Award from Seattle Met Magazine for years 2011-2019, the American Academy of Otolaryngology's "Honors Award" and the "Patient Top Choice" Award from Vitals.com. Dr. Davis is a Seattle native who attended the University of Washington for his undergraduate education, medical school and surgical residency. He then traveled to Australia to train with world renowned sinus surgeon, Professor PJ Wormald. Following completion of his training, he practiced for 12 years at the University of Washington Medical Center, serving as the Director of Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery and directing the rhinology sub-specialty training fellowship. During this time, he cared for patients from around the region with the most complex and challenging sinus and skull base disorders. Dr. Davis left his academic position at the University of Washington to focus on the most enjoyable aspect of his medical practice - treating patients. Joining private practice in Puyallup allows him to provide the highest quality medical and surgical care in a very convenient environment for patients. He treats his patients with considerable care, respect and kindness from the simplest illness to the most complex. Dr. Davis is a physician educator and co-director of the American Rhinologic Society's Summer Sinus Symposium. He also codirects the annual Seattle Otology and Advanced Rhinology Course. He is the past president of the Northwest Academy of Otolaryngology. He is also Chairman of the ARS Marketing Committee. He gives frequent lectures both nationally and internationally on improving medical and surgical treatment of sinus disorders. Dr. Davis is married and has two adult children. He enjoys traveling, skiing, scuba diving, hiking, rock climbing, mountaineering and camping.

Dr. Todd Jones

Dr. Todd Jones, M.D. is a general otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat specialist) who has practiced for over 10 years. Dr. Jones has experience treating head and neck surgical problems including parotid and thyroid conditions, sinonasal disorders and general otolaryngology in adults and children. He graduated from medical school at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia in 2007. He completed a residency in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery at the University of Wisconsin in 2012, and a fellowship in head and neck cancer surgery in 2013 at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, Australia.
