Lori Spivey - Founder, Managing Director

Lori Spivey, Florida Africa Foundation Founder and Managing Director, has nearly 20 years' experience in health care, consumer products, and consulting. She was previously a Principal with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) where she specialized in health care, consumer products, and emerging markets in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Prior to BCG, Lori worked for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Zambia, Elsevier Science in the Netherlands, and Procter & Gamble in the U.S. Lori has more than 10 years' experience working with Africa-related businesses, beginning in 2006 with the UNDP in Zambia promoting sustainable businesses and entrepreneurship. She's since worked with several U.S. and international companies seeking to expand into Africa, and has led several Africa-focused health initiatives, including international programs in malaria, HIV and reproductive health, and other infectious diseases. She led BCG's first large-scale African consumer research project, covering 10,000 persons across eight countries. Her work led to several publications on Africa, including "What Global Health Can Learn from Consumer Companies in Africa", "Understanding Consumers in the Many Africas", and the Economist Online's "Don't Count Out the African Shopper". She also played key roles in developing Roll Back Malaria's Global Malaria Action Plan and the WHO Plan for Artemisinin Resistance Containment. Lori received her BA in Communications from the University of Florida and her MBA from Harvard Business School. She has lived in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, and is the "Lori" voice of TomTom.

Rodney G.B. Clements

Rodney G.B. Clements is a Registered Nurse (RN) with more than 20 years' experience in Infusion Therapy, Pediatrics, and Emergency Medicine. He is a Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI) and holds state licenses in Florida, Georgia, California, Texas, Pennsylvania, and New York. Rodney is the President/Owner of RN Enterprises Infusion Services, Inc. which contracts with several national IV pharmacies. He has more than 15 years' experience providing Home Infusion Therapy (HIT) in Florida and Georgia, and has made over 12,000 patient visits, primarily for pediatrics and complicated regiments for the most difficult patients. He teaches patients and families how to administer IV therapy in the home, and also trains other nurses on HIT best practices and IV skills (PIV, central lines, ports, and PICC lines). Prior to Coram Healthcare, Rodney was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, serving as a Nurse Corps Officer in Virginia and Florida for more than six years, specializing in pediatrics and emergency medicine. He was the incoming casualty receiving officer for the Second Medical Battalion with the Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He also has extensive Emergency Medicine experience, having worked at St. Vincent's Medical Center ED, pediatrics ED at Shands, and the Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. Rodney received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Florida, has traveled to 55 countries, and previously lived in Southeast Asia.
