Global Training Experts was founded in 2008 by Jill LaFaive Gafner Livingston. The company was initially designed to launch global automotive quality programs. Although Gafner had been a global training expert for many years clocking in over 1200 international hours, she had an even bigger job at home. In 1991 Jill became a caregiver to her husband, Bob, who was diagnosed with double lung cancer, brain cancer and dementia. While raising the family, taking care of Bob, working 2 jobs, balancing finances and trying desperately to maintain a sense of "normal" within their household, Jill authored Personal Positioning for the Caregiver, Aardvark Global Publishing, 2006. "Once Personal Positioning for the Caregiver was written the focus changed" Jill began supporting caregivers nationally since there was such a growing need for emotional support.
