Christina oversees the Human Resources function across the health system. She joined GVH in 2010 as an HR Specialist and assumed the Director role in 2012. Christina earned her MBA in 2009 from Florida International University and her Bachelor's degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Human Resources Management from the University of Central Florida in 2006.

Jason Amrich joined Gunnison Valley Health in 2021. Jason holds a bachelor of science in physical therapy from Quinnipiac University and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Colorado - Denver. Since 2016, he has served as the Vice President of Operations for Longs Peak Hospital, Broomfield Hospital and Longs Peak Surgery Center all of which are a part of UCHealth. Jason's combination of clinical and administrative experience in Colorado health systems provides him with unique insight into the dynamics of clinical and business operations for a health system. Having spent a significant portion of his career working in Colorado means that he is familiar with current and future opportunities and challenges facing Gunnison Valley Health.

Jenny Birnie previously served as the Executive Director of the Crested Butte Center for the Arts for 12 years. Jenny has a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Denver and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Communication from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Jenny has a long history as a dedicated and passionate leader who is committed to building community support, igniting collaboration and consensus among organizations, and utilizing performance measures to improve overall outcomes for organizations. Jenny appreciates the diversity of her position at GVH that focuses on running a 501C3 nonprofit organization to provide financial support to Gunnison Valley Health's programs and services while working with health and human services organizations to improve mental health outcomes for our community members. Recently, the Foundation approved a new Strategic Plan and Gunnison Valley Health will be launching a new Department of Behavioral Health in 2021.

Joelle Ashley oversees the marketing activities for Gunnison Valley Health. Her responsibilities include strategic messaging for the various entities that encompass the health system as well as overseeing all advertising, sponsorships, online activity, and public information. Joelle is also involved with organizing special events both internally and externally to engage employees and the community. Joelle has over 20 years' experience in the marketing and communications field. The majority of her career was spent supporting the communications, outreach, and marketing for non-profit organizations in Wyoming and Colorado. Joelle has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Wyoming.

Mark Kaufman

Mark is a general internist with four decades of experience in patient care, health system governance, health care policy and health plan medical management. He most recently served as chief medical officer (CMO) of the Wisconsin Hospital Association, helping to lead Wisconsin hospitals through the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. Most of his medical career was based in Madison, Wisconsin at the Dean Clinic, a multi-specialty group practice of over 500 physicians. After many years of patient care, Mark transitioned to leadership roles at Dean including Board Chair, interim CEO and CMO. Mark formed his own health care consulting company in 2013, focusing on physician leadership, clinical quality, value-based care, public reporting and clinical practice variation. Mark has served on many health care boards including the Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality, SSM Health, the Wisconsin Institute for Healthy Aging and Navitus Health Solutions. Mark received his MD degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.

Marla Covey

Marla Covey moved to Crested Butte with her sister in December of 1989. After working in banking for 24 years, Marla resigned in 2014, taking some time off to figure out what the next phase in her life will be. Marla is currently working and volunteering in the valley which allows her to learn new skills, increase her time for adventure, and freedom to travel. She has always been involved in the community as she served on the board for The Crested Butte Arts Festival and as Treasurer for many years. Marla has also had the honor of working with many young women in the community coaching the Crested Butte High School volleyball team. Over 12 years ago, Marla, along with a friend, worked to expand the 9 Health Fair to Crested Butte later evolving into the Gunnison Valley Health Wellness Events. Marla is also a member of the Gunnison Valley Health Foundation Board of Directors.

Marla H. Crockett

Marla assists healthcare organizations through collaborating on creating value through strategic planning, organizational restructuring and integrating data and information technology into solutions. She has over thirty years of healthcare and management consulting experience. She published numerous articles on ambulatory care redesign, using data to drive improvements in the ambulatory care environment and organizational restructuring. She has also been a contributing author on two award winning books published through HIMSS; "Beyond Return on Investment: Expanding the Value of Healthcare Information Technology," and "Rethinking ROI: The Challenge of Accountable Meaningful Use." Prior to founding Hutchison Healthcare Consulting, Marla was a partner with Deloitte Consulting in the Houston, TX healthcare practice. Marla also has prior experience as a senior nursing executive with Humana, Inc., Managing Director: Care Transformation with Maestro Strategies and the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of "the MediStore." Marla holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Kansas and a Master of Business degree from the University of Houston. She has conducted numerous national and international speaking engagements on current trends and topics in healthcare including ambulatory care model transformation, surgical services transformation, the role of informatics in designing a collaborative approach to cancer care and the emerging e-healthcare consumer.

Stephens Mundy

Stephens received his Master of Health Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. Stephens served as CEO of two hospitals in West Virginia for 8 years as CEO of two hospitals in upstate New York for 15 years. One of the New York hospitals was a Critical Access Hospital like GVH. He also oversaw one of the largest Primary Care demonstration projects. During his tenure in New York, Stephens served on the board of directors of the New York Hospital Association and was elected as the chair for two years. Following his retirement, Stephens and his wife relocated to Crested Butte where they own and operate Alpengardener with their son. Stephens also volunteers with the Adaptive Sports Center and teaches spin class at CORE in Crested Butte.
