GS offers training and program development consulting on career development applications of the Strong and MBTI instruments. Judith (Judi) Grutter founded GS in 1978 with her husband and business partner, Bill Schatz - thus GS. Bill and Judi were living in southern California at the time - Bill at Cal State Los Angeles and Judi at Cal State Northridge. They kept their university "day jobs" all through the 1980s as they nurtured the training business. By 1990 growth of the business had forced a decision point: The security of academic employment vs. the adventure of a business partnership. Bill was the risk taker; Judi the planner - ENFP preferences and INTJ preferences described it pretty well. The joint vision was solid, they just needed to implement it. They also had a vision of where they wanted to spend the rest of their lives - Lake Tahoe. And so they jumped in...
