Bethany Souza

Bethany is the creative visionary and founder of Historic Innovators, a boutique hospitality firm specializing in developing experience driven properties and events. Bethany oversees all operations of the firm with specific focus and hands-on involvement of concept development, construction management and design. Prior to founding Historic Innovators, Bethany was the Director of Property Development for ARK Restaurant Corporation in Las Vegas but most often recognized as the Real Estate Expert on HGTV's Designed to Sell. She was featured for eight years as the on air expert who dished witty, no nonsense advice for design improvement. From 2010-2020 she single-handedly transformed the face of hospitality in Lake Geneva Wisconsin with her creation and operation of multiple hospitality venues which include the award winning Maxwell Mansion, Dr Maxwell's Apothocary, Shhhh the Speakeasy, the historic Baker House 1885 restaurant, hotel and lakefront lounge along with several furnished rental homes that incorporated extremely unique accommodations with transformed barns and tree-houses. Bethany first realized her passion for real estate in 1995 when she was recruited from the hospitality field into the world of commercial brokerage where she was able to parley her vast hotel experience into real estate development representing Las Vegas Boulevard hotel owners and land developers in multi-million dollar transactions. Never one to sit on the sidelines she was quick to follow her own aspirations of being a hotel owner and moved to the Midwest where she personally acquired, renovated, designed and simultaneously operated three highly successful boutique inns along with a restaurant, three bars, a wedding venue and multiple design-driven vacation rentals. With almost 30 years in the hospitality industry she manages the helm of Historic Innovators with a wealth of knowledge in all areas of development, design and management, but has truly made her mark as an "Experience Maker" fueled by her passion to create the unexpected in all she does. Bethany attended Johnson & Wales University where she earned a degree in Hospitality Management, and also a BS in Hotel Operations from the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
