Hobart Specialist Day Hospital (HSDH) is a new, fully accredited day hospital facility commissioned to the highest standards with the needs of patients, surgeons and staff in mind... HSDH is supported by the same highly regarded team from the former TasIVF location at St Helen's Private Hospital and is part of the Virtus Health Specialist Day Hospital network... As a day hospital, all patients admitted for a procedure are discharged home the same day which typically incorporates a stay of 4-6 hours. With fewer surgeries being performed each day compared to large hospitals, patients enjoy the benefit of more intimate care and since no patients stay overnight we can offer highly competitive surgery rates. A shorter hospital stay, early mobilisation and experienced nurse-led follow up also means patients can comfortably recover in the familiar surrounds of their own home.
