Christian Frhr

Christian is a connectivity expert specializing in submarine cables, SDN and data center connectivity besides satellite communications. Based out of Germany, he has been managing regulatory affairs and working in business development for carriers and Internet Exchange Points globally while also advising authorities and politicians throughout Europe in the field of ICT policy. Christian has previously worked for various carriers and IXPs with a focus on Europe and the Middle East. Lately Christian worked for Megaport as Ecosystem Director and introduced the company's Network-as-a-Service offering into Central and Eastern Europe. He led business development at OM-NIX, an IXP in Sofia, from formation until it was acquired by Megaport. At Sofia Connect he worked on the Caucasus Cable System across the Black Sea and on establishing a new geopolitically safe route between Europe and the Middle East. Christian has led projects to bring Internet connectivity into underserved and unserved regions, including bringing a branch from the SAEx subsea cable to the small remote South Atlantic island of St Helena. Christian has studied law at the University of Tübingen, Germany where he specialized on corporate law.

Henrico Virginia

Henrico Virginia announced today that they have been recognized by The National Association of Counties (NACo) with the 2021 NACo Achievement Award for its innovative ‘Henrico Internet Infrastructure' Webinar Series in the Community and Economic Development category. The webinar series was developed in collaboration with the global consultancy firm InterGlobix in early 2020. When the pandemic hit, the Henrico Economic Development Authority (EDA) immediately contacted nearly 2,000 county businesses by phone and email. The need for an efficient medium to continuously disseminate information was important. Due to the travel restrictions, the EDA wanted to find a way to promote the County's efforts and the webinar series was a logical choice and an effective medium. The ‘Henrico Internet Infrastructure' Webinar Series focuses on the Internet Infrastructure that has been vital to businesses and to our personal lives during the pandemic. The highly successful webinar series has thus far comprised of four online webinars covering topics pertaining to Digital Infrastructure including--Henrico's Data Center Market for Brokers, Building a Sustainable Future, Global Connectivity Enhancements and Accelerating Digital Transformation in the New Era. World-class speakers from the Digital Infrastructure industry globally have participated in the webinar series, representing companies such as DE-CIX, Dominion Energy, DPR Construction, Facebook, Flexential, GlobeNet, InterGlobix, McGuireWoods, Mid-Atlantic Broadband Communities, QTS Data Centers, Telxius and Virginia Commonwealth University. InterGlobix Magazine is the exclusive Media Partner of the webinar series. "With 25,000 businesses in Henrico, we needed to multiply our efforts, and the webinar series was born. We looked for a way to showcase our county to potential businesses since all travel and face-to-face meetings were canceled," said Anthony Romanello, Executive Director of Henrico Economic Development Authority. Lynsey is an experienced digital infrastructure and subsea telecommunications leader who has been involved with the industry for over 25 years. Having worked worldwide as a supplier, customer, operator and consultant, she has an extensive knowledge of the global telecommunications market. As the Business Development Director, Lynsey is actively involved in growing the InterGlobix Consulting and InterGlobix Magazine businesses and supporting both existing and new clients. Lynsey has held senior positions at Cable & Wireless, Apollo and Xtera. First and foremost, Lynsey is an engineering specialist; she worked on the Europe India Gateway system, leading the CWG and co-chairing the PG from conception through to contract, and on the construction of cable systems such as Apollo, EllaLink and NO-UK. Lynsey has served as a trustee in the renewables sector and is a previous columnist for the Guardian newspaper and an active freelance writer. Lynsey holds a master's degree in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford, and is based out of the U.K.

As the CEO of InterGlobix, Vinay leads the consultancy and advisory business of the company, and he has led global initiatives focused on the convergence of data centers, subsea fiber, and terrestrial fiber. Previously, he has been an executive with Digital Realty, DuPont Fabros Technology, TATA Communications, Verizon Business, UUNET, CanWest Global Communications, and Intrinsyc Software. Vinay is part of leadership and advisory teams for the Internet Ecosystem Innovation Committee (IEIC), the QTS Richmond NAP, Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC), Total Telecom Submarine Networks EMEA, DE-CIX, Loudoun Economic Development, RVA757 Connects I-64 Innovation Corridor, RTI Cables, SubOptic, PTC and previously GPX India, LINX NoVA and the Open-IX Association.
