Cole P. Nimmo, an associate of the firm, focuses his practice on the defense of insurance companies and their insureds and in the defense of general civil litigation matters.
J. Derrick Teague, a director and shareholder of the firm, focuses his practice in the defense of manufacturers of products, insurance companies and their insureds, and other corporate clients. In his practice, Derrick represents clients in a wide range of complex litigation matters, including the defense of vehicle manufacturers and manufacturers of industrial and consumer products. Derrick has represented several companies in asbestos litigation, numerous trucking companies, and a variety of national retailers and restaurants. In addition, Derrick has an extensive insurance defense practice, where he has successfully defended cases involving insurance bad faith and personal injury.
James A. Jennings is a director and founding member of the firm. In his practice, he focuses on complex civil litigation.
Laura Eakens, a partner of the firm, focuses her practice in the areas of transportation law, products liability, employment law, insurance defense and general civil litigation. Ms. Eakens' work has included the defense of wrongful death/catastrophic injury claims, employment discrimination and wrongful termination claims, civil rights claims, construction defect matters, general negligence claims, and various other insurance matters.
Linda Kaufmann, a partner of the firm, focuses her practice on legal research, writing and analysis. Linda has over twenty years experience drafting pleadings, critical motions, trial briefs, appellate briefs, and memoranda on procedural and substantive issues arising in the firm's practice areas of product liability, insurance defense, warranty litigation, bad faith litigation, employment litigation, commercial litigation, and general civil litigation. Linda provides research and writing support for the firm's attorneys and clients at every stage of a case, from initial evaluation through trial and appeal.
