Aisha Estey

Aisha Estey joined Kazlaw in 2020 after obtaining her Master's in law from the University of British Columbia. Born in Saskatchewan and raised in Victoria, BC, Aisha obtained her BA from the University of Victoria and earned a First Class, Honours, law degree from the University of Kent in the UK. Aisha thoroughly enjoyed the international legal perspective she gained during her time in England. She was elected President of a university society, interned in the legal department of an international media company, and competed and won several negotiation and writing competitions. Aisha understands the importance of simplifying the law for her clients in order to alleviate the stressors that come with litigation. Aisha was partially drawn to personal injury law because the fee arrangements provide people with the opportunity to exercise their rights, free of financial concerns. Aisha grew up dancing competitively in styles from ballet to musical theater. She loves traveling, cooking, and debating the state of the world with her equally passionate friends, family, and colleagues. After work, you can find Aisha trying out a new restaurant or burning it off on her Peloton.

Ann Backhouse

Ann joined KazLaw in January 2011. A native of the UK, Ann obtained her law degree from Oxford University before broadening her horizons by working for a non-profit organization in Kenya. On returning to the law, Ann was given the prestigious position as clerk in the United Kingdom Court of Appeal (Civil Division) before qualifying as a lawyer in 1997. During her years as a litigation lawyer in the UK, Ann represented many clients in property litigation, general commercial litigation and regulatory work. Ann applies this breadth of litigation experience to her personal injury clients at KazLaw. Since immigrating to Canada in 2008, Ann has embraced the outdoor lifestyle. Along with her husband and her two sons, she enjoys running, hiking, skiing and snowshoeing. Her boys have not yet managed to persuade her to try longboarding.

Anne Wrona

Anne joined the KazLaw team in February 2020. Prior to law school, Anne trained and worked as a physical therapist. She assisted clients with a variety of injuries, including traumatic brain injury and serious fractures. After graduating from the University of Alberta law school, Anne moved to Victoria. In 2007, she was called to the BC Bar and started practicing as a trial lawyer. Since 2010, she has focused exclusively on assisting injured clients. Anne's unique advantage is her rehabilitation training combined with her experience representing injured clients. Anne has successfully advocated for her clients at all levels of court in British Columbia. Her experience ensures that her clients achieve full compensation for their injuries. In her personal time, Anne enjoys yoga, hiking and Pilates. On the weekends, Anne enjoys spending time outdoors exploring the beautiful trails on Vancouver Island. With her husband, she enjoys travelling and working on her home and garden.

Bob Cameron

Bob Cameron received his law degree from the University of Victoria in 1990. He was a recipient of the Robertson Ward Suderman Scholarship and articled at a national firm, Lang Michener Lawrence & Shaw, Vancouver from 1990-1991. He subsequently moved to New Zealand, where he completed his Masters of Jurisprudence with Distinction (a postgraduate degree in Law) and lectured at the University of Auckland, Law School. Bob has been practicing exclusively in the area of complex injury litigation for over 20 years and started his own law firm in 2004. He represents people who have meritorious claims for compensation as a result of bodily injury. His father, Dr. G. Stuart Cameron has been a respected Neurosurgeon in Victoria since 1973. Bob has appeared in all levels of court and has achieved notable results in cases involving professional athletes and complex brain and psychiatric injury. Bob pursued his passion for bicycle road and track racing in New Zealand, North America, and Belgium, from 1992 to 1995. He continues racing recreationally to the present. He is a multiple Provincial and National medalist. He won a Canadian National Championship in the Olympic Sprint in 1996. Due to his lifelong involvement in rugby, skiing, mountaineering and high-level bicycle racing he has sustained numerous orthopedic injuries requiring multiple surgeries, which provides him with a unique empathy and medical perspective when advocating for injured clients. He and his law firm have been tremendous supporters of the Victoria community. Robert W. Cameron Law Corporation has been the title sponsor of the top cycling event on Vancouver Island for 7 years. The firm has also sponsored multiple cycling, running, triathlon and other athletic events, individuals and teams. Bob is currently on the Board of Directors for PISE (Pacific Institute for Sports Excellence) and is a past Director for Tyee Aquatic Swim Club. He is a frequent lecturer for TLABC and the West Coast School of Massage Therapy. He has also lectured at University Law School and at Medical/Orthopaedic Continuing Medical Education seminars. Bob is also a cycling and sports advocate and sponsor of the Bike Sense Manual. He has represented numerous athletes in carding, doping, and national team selection disputes. He is supported by his wife, Heather and three beautiful children, Stuart, Georgia and Sarah, and greatly inspired by the courage of his clients. Bob Cameron has retired from practicing law as of May 31, 2023.

Debra Peters

Debra has worked with Marc Kazimirski for over 10 years as a Case Manager with the focus on brain injury and catastrophic cases. Debra initially began her career with ICBC in 1979 where she worked as an Injury adjuster, litigation adjuster, examiner and finally a Claims Manager. She taught in-house classes for ICBC regarding claims procedures and Part 7 benefits. As such, Debra has extensive knowledge of ICBC's claims processes. After 22 years with ICBC, Debra changed teams and began working for injured individuals. She is the Case Manager for Kazlaw and continues to focus on the most significant injury cases within the firm. Outside of work Debra enjoys spending time with her husband, traveling, gourmet cooking and plays classical piano.

Julie Gagnon

Julie Gagnon joined the Kazlaw team in 2020 after having worked exclusively in plaintiff's personal injury since being called to bar in 2006. She has experience representing clients injured in motor vehicle collisions, medical malpractice incidents, slip and fall incidents and who have been denied long term disability benefits. Julie is inspired to achieve the best possible result for every client and in facilitating their journey through difficult times. Following the completion of her bachelor's degree in Science at Concordia University, Julie attended Law School at the University of Ottawa. She completed her MBA at Royal Roads University which allows her to understand and effectively advance business income losses for her clients. Julie's grit flows into her passion for endurance sports. She also volunteers as a Hearing Body Member for the International Paralympic Committee arbitrating disciplinary hearings for infractions to the World Anti-Doping Code.

Marc is the founding partner of KazLaw in Vancouver, British Columbia. The entirety of his practice is devoted to representing injured individuals. This consists of a wide range of cases involving chronic pain, orthopedic and traumatic brain injuries, and psychological injuries, resulting from all types of accidents. Marc has been a personal injury lawyer on some of the largest cases in British Columbia. He is very active in the legal community and is the past President of the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia. Marc has lectured and chaired TLABC and CLE seminars on personal injury damages, trial advocacy, cross examination, expert evidence, and the New (Civil) Rules. Marc is an adjunct professor at the University of British Columbia's Faculty of Law and is teaching one of the first personal injury courses to be available at a Canadian law school. Outside of law, Marc is an avid cyclist and was on the Canadian National Cycling Team. He is also passionate about skiing and coached the provincial ski team. Marc enjoys spending time with his wife Michelle, who is also a lawyer, and their two wonderful children (Marc takes great pride in coaching his daughter's hockey team!).

Michelle joined the Kazlaw team in 2015 after having practiced as a solicitor for more than ten years. Michelle has an interest in health and the law, having completed a health law specialization at Dalhousie University. Michelle's law practice is now focused exclusively on assisting injured clients. Outside of law, Michelle enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two children.

Monica Klimo

Monica has been with Kazlaw since March 2019. Prior to joining, Monica articled and practiced at a downtown Vancouver law firm where she gained experience representing insurance companies and defendants in cases involving personal injury, eventually focusing her practice exclusively in the area of personal injury. Although she continued to defend personal injury claims for many years, her practice is focussed on representing injured individuals, in particular ICBC personal injury claims for drivers, passengers and pedestrians. Monica has handled a wide range of personal injury claims including, chronic pain conditions, neurological injury, orthopedic injury, psychological injury and soft tissue injury. She has represented clients at all levels of the British Columbia Courts and has experience mediating and negotiating out of court settlements. Monica's knowledge and understanding of how insurance companies defend personal injury claims enables her to provide clients with unique insight into the process and helps her develop strategies for successful resolution of her clients' claims. Monica is extremely dedicated to her clients. She is involved an all levels of the claims and litigation process and is passionate about ensuring that a just settlement is obtained. Outside the practise of law, Monica devotes her time to her children and her two dogs. She is also an avid traveller and enjoys culinary arts and photography. Nicole Douglas

Nicole joined KazLaw as a summer student in 2021, shortly after finishing her law degree in the UK. She stayed on as an articled student until her call to the Bar in 2023. During her articles, she assisted counsel in complex personal injury trials in the British Columbia Supreme Court. While attending law school, Nicole led a team with the Miscarriages of Justice Project, a pro bono group that aids prisoners who have maintained their innocence through their trial and conviction. This is where she first realized her passion for advocacy, which eventually led her to plaintiff personal injury law. Prior to law, Nicole was an accomplished competitive ballet dancer for 15 years. This experience taught her attention to detail, determination, and discipline - qualities that she has carried into her law practice. Outside of the office, you can find Nicole walking the sea wall (most likely with a coffee in hand), catching a movie or counting down the days until she can decorate her apartment for the next holiday.

Rea Kalsi

Rea Kalsi joined KazLaw in 2023. Prior to joining, Rea articled and practiced at one of Western Canada's largest litigation firms in downtown Vancouver where she gained experience in representing both injured clients as well as insurance companies and defendants in cases involving personal injury. Her practice focused primarily on representing plaintiffs in motor vehicle and other bodily injury claims such as slip and falls, medical malpractice, assault, and sexual abuse. She has worked on cases involving traumatic brain injury, concussion, chronic pain, orthopedic injury, vocal cord paralysis, anaphylactic shock, and psychiatric and psychological disorders. She has advocated for clients in a wide range of matters before the Supreme Court of British Columbia and has experience mediating and negotiating out of court settlements. Rea is determined to help her clients overcome difficult and overwhelming legal situations and is always conscious of her clients' well-being. She is passionate about finding creative ways to resolve matters while ensuring that a just settlement is obtained. Born and raised in Surrey, BC, Rea completed her Bachelor of Arts with distinction at Simon Fraser University. Prior to attending and graduating from law school at the University of British Columbia, she worked at the Vancouver Provincial Court of British Columbia where she fostered her keen interest in our court system. During law school, she interned at the Surrey Provincial Court of British Columbia where she gained invaluable insight from the provincial judiciary. When not practicing law, you can find Rea at the gym, enjoying the outdoors with her family and friends, and furthering her knowledge and practice of yoga, meditation, and brain health improvement. She is also a prominent dog lover ever since having her first family dog, Rocco - a 170 lb great dane mastiff mix.

In July 2019, Talya joined the Kazlaw team. Prior to joining Kazlaw, Talya practiced at a plaintiff personal injury firm that focused on helping plaintiffs with brain injuries and other catastrophic injuries. Talya has practiced exclusively in the area of plaintiff personal injury. She has worked on cases involving traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, chronic pain, orthopedic injury, and psychiatric and psychological disorders. She has appeared in all levels of court in British Columbia. Talya is passionate about finding creative ways to maximize her clients' claims so as to obtain full compensation for their injuries. She recognizes that the legal process can be an overwhelming maze for clients and does her utmost to ensure clients feel supported during the course of their litigation. Prior to attending law school, Talya obtained a Masters of Industrial Relations and worked in the field of labour relations and human resources. Realizing she could have a greater impact on the lives of others as an advocate, she made the decision to pursue a law degree. Outside the practice of law, Talya enjoys exploring the outdoors, in particular, hiking and biking, with her husband and daughter.

Tanya balances her professional life with a busy family life on the North Shore. Tanya is a mother to three active kids, she manages many kids sports teams, she is an active community volunteer.
