LFBS - Key Persons
Educational Background and Experience: I hold a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. With over sixteen years of experience working with children in various capacities-including as a nanny, tutor, teacher, and mother-I am passionate about crafting educational activities that are both fun and intellectually stimulating. My approach is designed to engage young minds and leave lasting, positive impressions.
Philosophy on Childcare: Younger kiddos have a special place in my heart, which is why I chose to take a career in Early Childhood Education. Research shows that children's first five years of life play a significant role in their lifelong development. As these early years are critical in a child's development, I am dedicated to providing enriching educational experiences that foster their physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth. It is deeply rewarding to know that my efforts help lay the foundation for children's future learning. I am eager to introduce your child to the joys of learning through play and exploration.
Personal Life: I reside in the Millard area with my husband, Chase, and our two sons, and our Shiba Inu, Penny. When not engaged in some sort of family activity, I enjoy reading, running, and baking.
Commitment to Education: As the Director at Little Feet, Big Steps Childcare and Preschool, I am thrilled to take on an expanded leadership role while continuing to serve as Education Director. This dual role allows me to guide the center's overall vision while remaining deeply involved in the educational programming I am passionate about. I am committed to fostering a nurturing, innovative learning environment that helps every child thrive. I look forward to welcoming your family and making learning a fun and foundational part of your child's early years.
Experience in Childcare: Caring for children has been my passion throughout my life, evolving through different roles over the years. I transitioned from nannying to working in a childcare center in 2015 to expand my opportunities and connect with more families. For the past five years, I have been part of the Pre-K department at LFBS, serving as the lead teacher for the Pre-K 1 class for the last three years. While I have a special fondness for Pre-K, I enjoy working with children of all ages, as each stage offers unique opportunities to nurture their growth and development. I am dedicated to building strong relationships not only with the children in my care but also with their families. Watching children grow and thrive is, without question, my favorite part of the job.
Why Childcare? I am passionate about fostering relationships with young children through group and one-on-one activities. Witnessing them learn, master new concepts, and grow in confidence is deeply rewarding. Supporting children as they achieve milestones and discover their potential is the most fulfilling aspect of my work.
Personal Life: I grew up in Papillion with my two sisters and one brother. Today, I call Gretna home, where I am fortunate to spend time with my two nieces and one nephew as often as I can. Time with them is something I treasure. Outside of work, I enjoy camping, boating, and shopping, all of which help me recharge and connect with the things I love.
Experience in Childcare and Beyond: My journey in childcare spans over a decade, starting as a teacher and progressing to Owner at our center. Before diving into childcare, I spent ten years in the corporate world, mastering customer service skills. The birth of my daughter over 11 years ago marked a heartfelt shift toward the childcare profession, allowing me to forge deep connections with children and families, nurturing their development and celebrating at every milestone.
Why Childcare? My passion lies in creating a meaningful impact on the lives of children and their families. I am committed to building a vibrant, welcoming team and cultivating an environment that parents are excited to be a part of every day. This dedication to childcare is more than a profession-it's my calling. Together with the community of Gretna and the surrounding areas, we are eager to contribute positively and grow deep roots here.
