Alice Park

As a Bilingual Portfolio Manager Assistant, Alice is responsible for Liberty's portfolio accounts administration. Before joining Liberty, Alice served as a bilingual administration officer at a large Canadian bank where she provided service to financial advisors. Prior to that, Alice was a business strategist and project coordinator at a global biotechnology firm during which she oversaw business operations, assuring productivity and efficiency and communicating with leaders. Alice was also involved in investor relations initiatives, maintaining relationships with existing and prospective investors and contributing to business development activities.

Andres Angarita

Job Titles:

Andres is a Trading and Operations Specialist at Liberty. Before Liberty, Andres was an Associate of the client experience and trading support team at a large North American broker. Before then, he was part of the wealth operations group at one of the major Canadian banks. Before moving to Canada, Andres worked in his home country for over 14 years in the financial services industry, gaining knowledge and experience in front and back-office operations for investment firms and the state-run pension fund. Andres holds a Master of Finance degree and a bachelor's degree in Finance and International Relations.

Annie Bertrand

Annie is Portfolio Manager based in Liberty's Quebec office and responsible for Ottawa, Quebec, and Eastern Canada. She has over 22 years' experience and a deep understanding of the Canadian securities industry. Prior to starting at Liberty, Annie served as an Investment Advisor for four years. Prior to that, she was Director of Operations, Chief of Compliance and Compliance Analyst at several wealth management firms. In her free time, Annie volunteers at the Centre d'Entraide Racine-Lavoie through the Income Tax Assistance program administered by Revenu Québec and the Canada Revenue Agency.

Brett Girard - CFO

Brett is CFO and Portfolio Manager. Prior to starting Liberty, Brett spent four years at a large Toronto based Pension Plan. There he spent time in the Mergers & Acquisitions Tax group and the Strategic Investments group. Prior to that Brett was a staff accountant at a large multinational accounting firm. Brett holds a CPA, CA designation, CFA designation, an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University (formerly University of Western Ontario) and an HBMSc in Physiology and Cell Biology from Western University.

David Driscoll

Job Titles:

David began work in the financial services industry in 1979. In that time, he has worked in a number of positions at multiple banks, a bond rating agency, as editor of an investment newsletter and as a portfolio manager at a boutique investment counselling firm. He has seen the best and worst that Bay Street has to offer and started Liberty to provide superior client service. With every media appearance, newsletter written or seminar given, David constantly teaches. This helps clients gain a better understanding of their investments and solidifies the long-term relationship.

Merab Nathaniel Alam

Merab is responsible for trading and operations. Prior to starting Liberty, Merab spent 10 years with a boutique investment management firm on the trading desk and in operations. Prior to that she spent three years in the Corporate Finance Advisory practice as a Consultant with one of the big four management consulting firms. Merab holds a Master of Finance from Joseph L. Rotman School of Management and an MBA in Finance from Imperial College of Business Studies. She is a member of the CFA Institute, Toronto CFA Society and Global Association for Risk Professionals. In her free time, she volunteers for Red Shawl, a women's community organization and has in the past also worked for the Canada Revenue Agency's Community Volunteer Income Tax Programme (CVITP).

Raji Dhillon

Raji is responsible for trading and operations. Prior to starting with Liberty, Raji worked for a boutique investment firm specializing in Global Small Cap Equities. Her responsibility encompassed Performance & Analytics, Trading and Marketing. Prior to that, Raji worked as an Associate for over 12 years with a large institutional investment manager, where she had various responsibilities in investment operations, specializing in Performance and Attribution analytics. Raji graduated with honors from the University of Toronto with a Business Administration degree in Economics.

Virginia Randall

Job Titles:
  • VP Client Service & Compliance
Virginia Randall is our Office Manager and leads the Client Service team. Before Liberty, she worked at a major Canadian financial company where she managed and mentored financial call centre teams to ensure high service standards. In addition to leading these teams, she worked to ensure that compliance targets were met, and wrote policies for key risk areas and internal controls for the organization.

Vivian looks forward to help clients with all their administrative needs.
