Celestina Z Aguilar is a board certified Nurse Practitioner at Las Vegas Neurology Center. She attended Roseman University of Health Sciences where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. While working in the surgical intensive care unit and amidst a pandemic, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a subspecialty in Family Medicine at Purdue University Global. Cynthia Garay

Cynthia's healthcare career started in the U.S. Army where she served two tours in Iraq as a combat medic. After leaving the military, she attended the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor where she obtained a bachelor of science in biology. To further her interest in medical sciences she started taking graduate coursework in basic biomedical sciences, but ultimately decided to return to healthcare. She attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska for her BSN. She has since worked as a nurse in emergency department, obstetrics and gynecology, and cardiac step-down. While working as a nurse, she also attended school through the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama to become an advanced practice registered nurse. Cynthia is a certified nurse practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board. She is also a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Dr. Azin Azma

Dr. Azin Azma is a board certified neurologist and clinical neurophysiologist. Dr. Azma has been providing exceptional care to the Las Vegas community for almost a decade. Dr. Duncan Gilmour is a Board-Certified Neurologist who works at Las Vegas Neurology Center and primarily sees patients at Henderson Hospital. He served in the military for eight years and while he was stationed in New York he was able to take college classes at night from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and graduated with a dual major in Nuclear Engineering and Engineering Physics. In 2007, Dr. Gilmour was honorably discharged from the Navy and worked at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station in Arizona as a Nuclear Engineer/Operator. He enjoyed his job but felt a calling to do more and made the decision to change careers and get involved in health care. He completed Medical School at got his medical degree from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. Dr. Gilmour completed his Internal Medicine Internship and Neurology Residency at Loma Linda University in California and served as Chief Neurology Resident in his final year of training. Dr. Gilmour is a Board-Certified Neurologist and licensed to practice medicine in both California and Nevada. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Gilmour enjoys spending time with his family as well as outdoor activities including hiking and mountain biking.

Jay Mahajan, DO, is a board-certified neurologist at Las Vegas Neurology Center. He has resided in Las Vegas, Nevada, for over ten years. Born and raised on the West coast, he has anchored himself in Nevada and is dedicated to serving the Las Vegas community. Dr. Mahajan was selected to be a member of the University of California at San Francisco's biomedical internship program at a young age, sparking his interest in medicine. He is co-founder of Las Vegas Neurology Center and the primary neurologist for Centennial Hills Hospital. He was nominated and elected by his peers to serve as a member of the Medical Executive Committee at Centennial Hills Hospital. In January 2016, he was selected as Outstanding Physician at Centennial Hill Hospital. He is also core faculty for the Neurology Residency Program at the Valley Hospital Medical Center, where he thoroughly enjoys teaching residents and medical students. Practicing medicine and teaching is one of Dr. Mahajan's greatest passions. During his free time he also enjoys reading, exercising, and traveling. Dr. Conners was born and raised in Southern California but lived in the Las Vegas area for eight years during medical school and residency. Prior to medical school she worked at an elementary school as a teacher's assistant, and also worked as an MCAT inorganic chemistry teacher and tutor. She attended Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine in Henderson, NV, where she graduated in the top quartile of her class. She was an active member of many clubs and volunteered with several organizations. Afterwards, she completed her four-year neurology residency at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas and served as chief resident her last year. During residency, she first-authored three papers and is a co-author on another. She also served on the hospital's ethics committee. After graduating from residency, she completed a fellowship in epilepsy at the University of Southern California, where she specialized in the management of medically-refractory epilepsy. She gained significant experience in managing an epilepsy monitoring unit as well as determining surgical options to treat epilepsy in those who continue to have seizures despite taking seizure medications. She presented cases to approximately two dozen physicians (epileptologists, neuroradiologists, and neurosurgeons) at Keck multidisciplinary epilepsy surgical conferences several times per month during fellowship, and hopes to continue participating in those conferences after fellowship. After fellowship, she returned to the Las Vegas area because she enjoyed working with the wonderful neurologists at Las Vegas Neurology Center and had enjoyed her time in Las Vegas in the past. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, running, and gardening. She is currently preforming research on the compliance rates of epilepsy safety precautions in hopes to guide physicians on how to better counsel their patients on these important recommendations. She has special interests in the safety and improving the quality of lives of those who live with epilepsy.

Meseret Bekele

Meseret Bekele is a board-certified advanced practice nurse with over a decade of experience as a registered nurse here in Las Vegas. Most of her nursing carrier was spent as a critical care nurse dealing with difficult life-threatening conditions. She was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Meseret moved to the United States as a teenager and earned her associate degree in nursing from the College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas. Michael Dang

Dr. Dang is a Board-Certified Neurologist with fellowship training in Vascular Neurology who practices primarily as a Neurohospitalist for Henderson Hospital. He would go on to obtain a Masters of Arts degree in Biomedical Sciences and attend Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school. He then completed his Neurology Residency training at Loma Linda University where he served as a chief resident and was awarded the "Resident of the Year" by his peers. Dr. Dang followed his passion for stroke neurology by completing a fellowship in Vascular Neurology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Dang enjoys being a father to his two young boys and husband to his loving and supportive wife. On weekends, you might find him frequently spending time with his family at the Las Vegas Spring Preserve as membership holders. Robert Riggio

Robert W. Balsiger

Robert W. Balsiger, DO, is a local board-certified neurologist at Las Vegas Neurology Center. He has resided in Las Vegas, Nevada, since 2006. He has strong ties to the Midwest growing up in Minnesota and Ohio. Dr. Balsiger attended The Ohio State University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise physiology. He was active in the community in Columbus, Ohio, and on campus at The Ohio State University. While a full time student, he obtained a personal training certificate and was involved in geriatric exercise prescription. Dr. Balsiger was on the Dean's List each year he attended The Ohio State University. Following his undergraduate degree, Dr. Balsiger relocated to Henderson, Nevada. Thus, he continued his training in Las Vegas, Nevada, completing a 4 year neurology residency at Valley Hospital Medical Center. Upon completion of residency, Dr. Balsiger continues to serve the community here in Las Vegas. He is the stroke director and director of neurology at Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center. He also has a strong passion for academic medicine. He is part of the core faculty for the neurology residency at Valley Hospital Medical Center, a member of the Graduate Medical Education Committee at Valley Hospital Medical Center, and adjunct faculty for Touro University Nevada. He enjoys spending time teaching residents and medical students in an inpatient and outpatient setting. Dr. Balsiger also provides weekly neurology board examination review and neurology lectures for the neurology residents. Aside from practicing neurology, Dr. Balsiger enjoys weight training, watching movies and traveling.
