Monsoon Brass is a professional brass quintet based in Tucson, Arizona... Since its founding in 2016, Monsoon Brass has quickly become a dominant voice in the Arizona arts scene. Comprised of some of the highest caliber brass players in the Southwest, Monsoon Brass regularly performs highly demanding recitals, featuring genres not often performed by standard brass quintets. Their enthusiasm for new compositions has led them to commission several new works, and they enjoy bringing to life many overlooked compositions from the past century. Whether performing Renaissance music, colossal modern works, or jazz music with thrilling improvisation by trumpeter Jason Carder, Monsoon Brass brings a fresh perspective to brass chamber music.
