Jeffrey M. Heller

Job Titles:
  • Partner
Jeff is a partner and trial attorney at Nurenberg Paris, a personal injury law firm headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, which since 1928 has established itself as one of the most well-respected and highly regarded personal injury law firms in the country. Jeff focuses 100% of his practice on personal injury and medical malpractice. Over the last five years, he has obtained verdicts and settlements totaling more than $35 million and he is currently representing families and individuals in some of the most significant and high-profile personal injury cases across the entire state of Ohio. Jeff's expertise centers around serious motor vehicle and truck-involved crashes, premises liability, product liability, and nursing home and medical malpractice cases that involve catastrophic injury. He has been invited to write and lecture on these topics, especially with regard to the trials and tribulations of individuals who have survived a traumatic brain injury. Jeff has had the privilege of representing children in countless cases; mostly children who are injured at birth due to medical malpractice, but also children who have been injured in other unthinkable situations who need an advocate to make sure they have the resources to be cared for indefinitely. Because of his expertise he is frequently referred cases by other lawyers or brought into pending cases by other lawyers who rely on him to handle their most serious cases. Jeff started his career as a prosecutor in Cuyahoga County where he handled cases ranging from simple drug possession to rape and murder. One of his most notable cases was working on the trial team that prosecuted the then-leader of the Heartless Felons - Ohio's most vicious and notorious gang - which resulted in a life sentence for multiple murder and robbery convictions. The trial was featured on the A&E television show, "After the First 48." The invaluable training Jeff received at the prosecutor's office is where he developed a love for presenting cases in Court. Jeff's passion is presenting his clients' case(s) to a jury of their peers and his absolute core belief is that regardless of their cases, each of his clients has a constitutional right to a trial by jury. As a prosecutor Jeff had a conviction rate at trial of more than 90 percent, and in total, he has tried nearly 30 civil and criminal cases to a jury verdict. This puts Jeff in the top 1% of lawyers across the entire country. The reason Jeff has consistently been able to obtain such significant results for his clients is undoubtedly because of his courtroom success. Jeff has been fortunate over his career to have been recognized by his peers as an Ohio Super Lawyer, a National Trial Lawyer Top 40 Under 40, and most recently as a Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch®. Some of his most notable results are:

This dedication is why Jordan went to night school at a local community college to obtain his Commercial Driver's License (CDL). He describes his choice to pursue this license as a part of his commitment to serve and represent his clients' full needs: "It's not really fair to be judgmental and pick apart what a driver may or may not be doing if you don't really know what you're talking about. So, I figured the best way to know what I am talking about is to go ahead and get the license myself." -Jordan Jordan takes the next step to become fully involved in his cases, using what he learns from his experience and CDL training. For example, he represented a woman whose car was hit by a semi-truck and analyzed the pre-trip inspection report and logbook to determine the truck driver was not telling the truth about his whereabouts before the crash. Jordan's professional demeanor and knowledge coupled with his ability to connect with people are the reasons why a client of his who was involved in a crash wrote in a 5-star review, "[Jordan's] empathy and understanding equaled his legal expertise." When he is not at the office or on the road working for his clients, Jordan like to spend time with his wife and son, and going out for Italian food. He also enjoys running and hiking with his dog, Stevie, and going skiing. No matter what type of case he is working on, Jordan will be with you through every step of the process and will make it his mission to get justice for your family, with the support and compassion you deserve.
