Prior to Paindrainer, Alexandra worked as Nordic Marketing Manager at Niconovum, an entrepreneurial pharmaceutical company where she had a leading role in successfully launching the OTC brand Zonnic in 5 countries reaching net sales of over 100 million SEK. She is also a board member at the listed pharmaceutical company AcuCort AB and the tech start-up VoiceDiagnostic AB. Alexandra holds a MSC in Business Administration and Economics from Umeå University.

Antje M. Barreveld - Founder

Antje M.Barreveld, M.D. is Medical Director of Pain Management Services and co-Founder and Director of Education and Outreach for Substance Use Services (SUS) at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Dr. Barreveld is Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at Tufts University School of Medicine, and an Anesthesiologist at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Dr. Barreveld is also Clinical Researcher at Harvard Medical School in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. Nationally, Dr. Barreveld serves in numerous leadership and pain advocacy roles. She is co-Editor for the Education Section of Pain Medicine, the official journal of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, for whom she also serves as an elected Board member. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in high-ranking scientific journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, Pain Medicine, Anesthesiology, Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, and Anesthesia & Analgesia. Dr. Barreveld is a 2020 Mayday Pain & Society Fellow, selected as one of 12 national Fellows to build the next generation of pain experts to provide evidence-based and solutions-focused information about pain care and treatment as well as promising research emerging in the field.

Dr. Henrik Grelz

Elin Algotsson

Elin Algotsson is a highly experienced professional within Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance for medical devices. Prior to Paindrainer, Elin worked as Regulatory Affairs Manager at Atos Medical AB, the global leader in laryngectomy care as well as a leading developer and manufacturer of tracheostomy products with distribution to over 90 countries. Her responsibilities included implementation of standard operating procedures for global compliance, regulatory intelligence, CAPA and audit management, worldwide product registrations and final review of promotional materials. Elin holds a MSC in Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.

Erik Frick - CEO

Erik Frick is a successful business leader and has extensive experience working with digital products and commercial activities. Prior to Paindrainer, Erik worked as COO and Vice President at Resurs Bank, where he took lead in corporate strategies, business development, and was responsible for the development and commercialization of their fintech app, which had around a quarter million users. He also has experience as a board member at Kivra OY during their launch phase in the Finnish market. Maria Rosén Klement - Founder

Maria Rosén Klement is a dedicated founder and inventor of Paindrainer. Maria has research experience in immunology, lipid biochemistry, and protein fold prediction from Stockholm University and Karolinska Institutet. Maria lives with chronic pain and got the idea for Paindrainer after struggling to adapt to life changes following an injury and meeting others who face similar challenges living with persistent pain. Maria holds a BSc in Biochemistry, an MSc in Molecular Biology from Umeå University, and a PhD in Biochemistry from Stockholm University.

Mattias Ohlsson
