Garrett S. Elsinger

Garrett S. Elsinger earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science and History from Hope College, Holland Michigan in 1993. He earned his Juris Doctor from University of Miami School of Law in 1996. Garrett worked for the Broward County State Attorney's Office from 1997 through 2003 where he rose to the position of Felony Trial Unit Supervisor and was responsible for the prosecution of vehicular homicide and second degree murder cases. He has been lead counsel in over 100 jury trials in both state and federal courts. In 2003, Garrett opened his own law firm in Fort Lauderdale where he practiced criminal law. From 2008 through 2014 Garrett worked for Purdy, Jolly, Giuffreda & Barranco, P.A. where he practiced civil rights defense and government liability representing law enforcement officers in state and federal courts who were accused of false arrest, excessive force, and negligence. Garrett focuses his practice in the areas of homeowners' first-party property insurance litigation and general civil litigation. He is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts and well as the federal courts for the southern and middle districts of Florida, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Lance B. Stephan

Lance B. Stephan is an experienced civil litigator. Mr. Stephan primarily represents homeowners in legal disputes with their insurance carriers. Prior to joining the Mineo Salcedo Law Firm, Mr. Stephan was Associate General Counsel to Florida's largest homeowners' insurance company. Mr. Stephan also previously worked as an associate attorney for a well-known Miami law firm, where he represented a number of insurance carriers throughout Florida. Mr. Stephan completed earned both his Bachelors and Masters Degrees at Florida State University and graduated cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law. During law school, he was a judicial intern for Justice Barbara J. Pariente, at the Florida Supreme Court. Prior to attending law school, he worked as a legislative aide in the Florida House of Representatives in Tallahassee, Florida. Mr. Stephan is a member of the Florida Bar.

Peter John Mineo

In 1977, Mr. Mineo graduated from Biscayne College (now St. Thomas University) with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. His background in the field of accounting gives him an enormous advantage in addressing complex financial matters presented in divorce litigation. In 1981, Mr. Mineo graduated from Nova University Law School. His entire third year of law school was spent as a clinical intern in the Broward County Public Defenders Office. This gave him the unique experience of having tried more than twenty cases before juries to verdict, before becoming a member of the bar. In October of 1981, Mr. Mineo was sworn in as a member of the Florida Bar and worked as an assistant Public Defender. He was one of three persons hired from more than 40 applicants. In 1982, he opened his own practice as a trial lawyer. He ultimately formed the firm, Mineo Booth & George, P.A., where he remained Senior Partner for many years. Early in his career, Mr. Mineo handled a varied case load including Plaintiff Personal Injury, Family Law and Medical Negligence litigation and General Civil litigation. He has tried over two hundred cases to verdict over his career. Many of these cases were complex medical negligence matters which are considered the most difficult and most challenging of all cases. He has successfully tried Family Law cases for high net worth clients, Medical Negligence cases for both plaintiffs and defendants, Wrongful Death cases for both plaintiffs and defendants, Products Liability cases involving serious injuries, Accident cases involving serious injuries and major civil litigation involving business disputes, including numerous legal malpractice claims. Thereafter, Mr. Mineo was the founding and Senior Partner in the law firm of Mineo & Dellapina. In 2005, Mr. Mineo was pleased to begin practicing with his son, Peter John Mineo, and later started the firm of Mineo & Mineo, P.A together which eventually grew into the current Mineo Salcedo Law Firm. Mr. Mineo maintains a very active and busy trial practice. He now limits his practice to cases involving high net worth individuals in civil matters and family law and those persons who have been catastrophically injured through the fault of others. Peter John Mineo is a native of South Florida, and has resided here his entire life. His legal training and familiarity with the court room first began during his childhood when he would frequently spend time at his father's law office and accompany him to court to observe trials. Even from a young age he knew he wanted to become a lawyer, and as a result participated in the debate team and forensics club during his school years. Peter graduated from Chaminade Madonna College Preparatory in 1998 and went on to attend college at the University of Central Florida from which he graduated in 2002 with his Bachelor's degree in Economics with a minor in History. In 2002, Peter enrolled in law school at Nova University's Shepard Broad Law Center where he was named the school's prestigious Goodwin Scholar, which carried with it an award of a full three year academic scholarship. Following his first semester of law school, Peter married his college sweetheart. Throughout law school Peter worked at the law offices of Mineo & Dellapina as a law clerk, where he endured rigorous training under his father, Peter Mineo, Jr., attending court regularly and drafting pleadings and motions to get the sort of actual on the job training law school often fails to provide. Peter earned his Juris Doctorate was admitted to the Florida Bar as a practicing attorney in 2005. He then joined the law offices of Mineo & Dellapina as an associate attorney, and then was a partner in the subsequent entities of Mineo & Mineo, where he first began practicing in the area of first party property insurance in 2008, and now The Mineo Salcedo Law Firm. In his early career, Peter was a general practitioner and quickly gathered a wide array of experience as a litigator practicing law in the areas of personal injury, medical malpractice, criminal law, corporate law, contracts, insurance law, foreclosure, international law, internet law, collection law, fraud and family law, including cases involving domestic/child abuse. Peter is currently a specialist with many years of experience in the area of first party property insurance claims. He represents and is a zealous advocate for home owners, restoration and remediation companies and other vendors against insurance companies on property claims which have been underpaid or denied. Peter currently resides in Cooper City, Florida with his wife and their four children.

Trevor Thomson

Trevor Thomson is an experienced trial lawyer and passionate advocate. Prior to joining The Mineo Salcedo Law Firm, Mr. Thomson served as an Assistant Public Defender for the 20 th Judicial Circuit, where he zealously fought to defend the rights of the indigent. During his time at the Public Defender's, Mr. Thomson tried over twenty jury trials and was the attorney of record in over one thousand criminal cases ranging from DUI to complex economic and SVU felonies. In 2008, Mr. Thomson graduated with his Bachelor's degree in Business Finance from Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Outside the classroom, Mr. Thomson played for the Men's Ice Hockey team at Saint Joseph's. In his senior year of college, Mr. Thomson was recruited by Morgan Stanley, a leading global financial services firm providing investment banking, securities, wealth management and investment management services. At Morgan Stanley, Mr. Thomson worked as a financial analyst in the operations division of the firm. There, he specialized in credit default swaps, interest rate swaps, and bespoke over-the-counter derivatives products. Mr. Thomson's background in both litigation and finance make him a valuable asset in complex litigation cases. After working for Morgan Stanley for over three years, Mr. Thomson's passion for justice led him to enroll in law school in 2011. In 2014, Mr. Thomson graduated from Ave Maria School of Law in Naples, Florida. While in law school, Mr. Thomson concentrated on opportunities to hone his craft in the areas of research, writing, and trial advocacy. Mr. Thomson excelled in those areas, serving as the Executive Articles Editor for the Ave Maria International Law Journal, working for his Contracts professor as a faculty research assistant, spending the summer of his second year working in federal court for The Honorable Douglas N. Frazier in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, advancing to the semi-final round in the Robert H. Bork Moot Court Competition, and receiving an "A" grade in Trial Advocacy. Today, Mr. Thomson continues to fight against injustice, representing home owners, restoration companies, and other vendors against insurance companies who have either underpaid or denied on property claims. Mr. Thomson is a member in good standing with the Florida Bar and is licensed to practice in all Florida State courts.
