Mike is an experienced real estate and business attorney who has practiced in Southern California since 2000. He was voted a Super Lawyer "Rising Star" by his peers and Los Angeles Magazine for a number of consecutive years. His practice focuses on counseling and representing developers, landlords, tenants, property managers, residential and commercial brokerage houses, mortgage brokers and financial institutions in all aspects of commercial and residential real estate litigation and transactions. This includes negotiating and structuring real property leases, acquisitions, sales, financing, and development. Recent transactions and litigation involve shopping centers, office and industrial buildings, residential subdivisions, residential and commercial condominiums, hotels, and golf courses.
As a real estate broker, Mike has also assisted buyers and sellers in the purchase and sale of residential homes, working closely with his colleague Ruth Seroussi to do so.
Mike graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Southern California in 1996 with majors in environmental studies and political science. He is also a 2000 graduate of the Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College where he earned a specialty degree in Environmental Law.
Mike is a member of the California Bar and a licensed real estate broker.
Over the years, Mike has worked or served as a volunteer for a number of non-profit and governmental environmental organizations. These include Environmental Defense, The Wilderness Society, The Natural Resources Defense Council, The Fund for Public Interest Research, and the City of Los Angeles' Department of Environmental Affairs. Mike also served as President of the Venice Neighborhood Council for two separate full terms, Vice-President of the Sierra Club's Airport-Marina Chapter and a member of Heal the Bay's Science and Policy Advisory Committee. He also serves on the City of Los Angeles West Area Planning Commission, Venice Arts' Board of Directors and the Venice Chamber of Commerce and coaches his kids baseball teams.
Mike lives in Venice with his wife, Ruthie, their sons, Holden and Dylan, and their dog Bianca. He is an active traveler, outdoor enthusiast and runner.

For the last 8 years, Ruth has represented clients purchasing and selling their residential homes, income properties and condominiums, as well as buyers and sellers in commercial transactions. Ruth specializes in paying close attention to client needs and wants and going above and beyond to ensure they have a positive experience and are satisfied with the outcome of their broker-client relationship. Ruth recognizes that buying a home is a big step, regardless of whether it is their first home or one of many. She takes pride in working to minimize anxiety and maximize benefits for her clients.
Over the course of the last 22 years, Ruth has also worked as an attorney for several non-profit organizations, including environmental, consumer and democracy organizations, and for civil rights and fair housing organizations. Ruth also spent the last 18 years working as a labor and employment attorney and general business litigator for various firms including Buchalter PC. She is now a shareholder at the Newhouse Law Group PC and represents a wide range of clients, including mortgage brokers and lenders, residential and commercial brokerage houses, buyers and sellers and more. Her legal practice in the private and non-profit sector has given Ruth a special insight into the legal side of real estate, as well as in the art of negotiating deals and resolving conflicts and issues that invariably arise during the course of any real estate transaction.
Ruth received her Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations (BSILR) from Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations in 1992. Ruth earned her Juris Doctorate (JD) degree in 1995 from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law. While in law school, Ruth served as the Chief Articles Editor for the Environmental Law Journal and as Vice President of the Public Interest Law Foundation.
Ruth is a member of the California Bar and a licensed real estate broker. She is a member of the National and California Association of Realtors, serves as an advisory board member for Cornell's Institute for Hospitality Labor and Employment Relations, is President of Venice Arts Board of Directors, Secretary of the Friends of Coeur D'Alene Booster Club, a member of the Venice Chamber of Commerce and its Education Committee, an AYSO soccer coach, a Pony League Baseball Team Parent and serves on various other local and national non-profit organization boards.
Ruth lives and works in Venice with her husband, Mike, their sons, Holden and Dylan, and their dog Bianca. She loves travel and the outdoors.
