Catriona Kennedy

Catriona Kennedy makes a welcome return to the trust. Catriona has a keen interest in the theatre, art, music and architecture which in normal times she manages to squeeze in between her twin passions of travelling and cycling with her husband Mike.

Clare Little

Clare is a retired GP with a long and continuing involvement with charities and public bodies in Perth. She enjoys Scottish Country Dancing, golf and walking as well as music and opera, theatre, reading, crosswords, and keeping in contact with her 6 grandchildren and wider family at home and abroad.

Helen Mackinnon

Helen has worked in the Third Sector in Perth for nearly 20 years across marketing, fundraising and Chief Executive roles. She currently works as a composer and arts administrator. Helen is passionate about volunteering and is a Rotarian in Perth.

John Thom

John is well known to the Thomson Trust having helped us with the administration of the trust over many years. He is a partner at Miller Hendry's Perth office- specialising in Succession and Estate Planning, Powers of Attorney and Guardianships, Private and Charitable Trusts, Executry Administraton, Asset Management and Mental Health Legislation. A graduate of the University of Aberdeen, John is also a Convenor of the Mental Health Tribunal of Scotland, a member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and he is also a trustee on a number of Trusts both Private and Charitable.

Michael Thomson

Michael setup the Trust in 1975 with his uncle David Kinnear Thomson. After working many years in the well known Perth Wine & Spirits distributor Peter Thomson's, he spent a number of years as Finance Director of the Children 1st charity before moving into a prolonged period of semi-retirement.

Ruth Ogston

Ruth has a wide-ranging experience of the charities, and currently works as the Trust & Funding Manager of the National Theatre of Scotland. Previous roles in the Scottish cultural sector include working at Scottish Opera and 7:84 Theatre Company. Ruth has a particular interest in supporting vulnerable children and young people. She has volunteered for the children's panel and is currently a respite foster carer and a trustee of The Gannochy Trust.

Simon Thomson

Simon is now the 3rd generation of Thomson family currently on the Trust, having joined in 2018. Professionally he has worked in the Agricultural Sector as a grain trader for over 10 years, helping to supply grain to some of the largest whisky producers in Scotland. A keen hockey and tennis player in his spare time, Simon has a particular interest in supporting sporting causes in Perth and Kinross. Having put down roots in the area a few years ago himself now, he also has a personal stake in the local community.

Stuart Thomson

Stuart has been with the Trust for 20 years and has recently taken on the role of Chairman. In his business life he was a Director of a major whisky transport company. He is now blissfully retired and enjoying his passions of walking, kayaking the major lochs of Scotland and growing mountains of home-grown produce. He lives in Aberdeenshire with his wife Margaret and has four children.
