Mark Toukan - Founder

Mark Toukan, the founder and principal first studied business at Villanova University in Pennsylvania. After receiving his BS in Business Administration at Villinova University in 1980, he decided to pursue his love of Engineering and moved to Colorado. In 1986, Mark graduated with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering at University of Colorado. After a few years working as a design engineer, he decided to start his own business, Toucan Design. Over decades Toucan Design Inc. has provided engineering designs and consulting to numerous sectors of business in addition to working with universities and engineering students. Mark has worked for 35 years in the mechanical design engineering field. His past jobs ranged from designing flight hardware for the space shuttle to developing the Indiana Jones Ride prototype for Walt Disney Imagineering. His company sponsored 10 senior design projects with the University of Colorado's Mechanical Engineering Program which exposed undergraduate/graduate students to the many facets of mechanical design, thermodynamics and applying creativity in solving engineering challenges. His most recent work involved developing and designing robust optical mounts used at the National Solar Observatory site in Hawaii. Mark received a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado along with a BS degree in Business from Villanova.
