Charné Allkins

Charné Allkins obtained her LLB degree from the University of Pretoria in 2011. She was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2014. Her experience is primarily in litigation with emphasis on High Court Litigation. She is part of the Litigation Team at WdT Attorneys.

Doug Holing

Doug obtained his BProc degree in 1995 from the University of Natal and practiced for his own account and in partnership in KZN from 1997. He has become an integral part of our litigation team, where he also heads the Family Law Department and is proficient in Contract Law. Doug has extensive experience in agriculture and therefore he knows and understands the needs and expectations of the local farming community.

Elizabeth Mokoena

Elizabeth obtained her BCom Law degree at Pearson Institute of Higher Education in 2018. She has experience in the taxation of legal costs. She joined the Litigation Department at WdT Attorneys in 2021. She obtained her LLB degree from the University of South Africa in 2022 and is appointed as a candidate Attorney in the Litigation Department.

Francois Du Toit

Francois obtained his LLB degree from the University of Pretoria in 2010. He joined Couzyn Hertzog and Horak of Pretoria, to serve his articles. Francois was admitted as an attorney in February 2013 and thereafter joined the WdT team. He specializes in High Court Litigation, with specific focus on Civil and Commercial Litigation with the Right of Appearance in the High Court. Francois also has a keen interest in Alternative Dispute Resolution and has been involved in various arbitrations. Born in the Lowveld, he has an understanding of the community and is an invaluable attribute to advising and assisting his clients.

Gideon (Kallie) Erasmus

Kallie Erasmus has specialised in environmental and development law for more than 30 years. Finance Monthly's Global Environmental Lawyer of the Year in 2020, Kallie is also an academic, published social scientist, chef who once owned his own restaurant, exhibited landscape artist who prefers water colours, photographer, and an inveterate lover of the African bush. His ties to rural communities across particularly Mpumalanga and Limpopo run deep and date back to the early ‘80s. Having founded the Centre for Development Studies at Unisa in the early ‘90s, Kallie served on the faculty of the South African Leadership Programme of the John F Kennedy School of Governance at Harvard, and the New Public Administration Initiative, a programme to prepare senior public servants and teachers of governance for the transition to a Constitutional Democracy. After returning to practice, Kallie pioneered using the National Environmental Management Act ("NEMA") to bring environmental miscreants to justice in South Africa's civil and criminal courts. In 2001 he shut a foul-smelling tannery in Gqeberha) down with the first NEMA-based civil interdict. In 2019 Uzani Environmental Advocacy cc, founded and led by Kallie, had BP South Africa (Pty) Ltd convicted for the unlawful construction of 17 filling stations without environmental authorisation in the first successful private criminal prosecution of an environmental offender anywhere. Both judgments have been reported in the South African Law Reports. Kallie provides specialised support to colleagues who have a particular appreciation for his incidental wordsmithing skills learnt many years ago at Pretoria Boys High.

Leon Doyer

Leon Doyer brings a strong financial and business emphasis to the services of our Law Firm. Leon obtained his BProc and LLB degrees from the University of Pretoria in 1999 and 2001, before being admitted as an Attorney and Conveyancer of the High Court of South Africa. He was admitted as a Partner at Du Toit-Smuts & Mathews Phosa Attorneys, whereafter he joined Investec Private Bank in 2008, gaining valuable commercial and financial experience. Leon specializes in High Court Litigation, Commercial work, Town Planning Law, Equity and Finance Brokering and matters relating to Land Restitution. He has established strong ties with South Africa's Banking and Finance Institutions, assisting clients to access finance for business ventures and asset acquisition.

Lianda Wells

Lianda Wells, co-founder of Wiekus du Toit Attorneys, obtained her BCom Law and LLB degrees from the University of Pretoria in 2001 and 2003 respectively. She was admitted as an Attorney, Conveyancer and Notary of the High Court of South Africa, before moving to Nelspruit. Lianda is a specialist in the field of Property Law, with particular emphasis on Township Development (Township Planning and Registration), Notarial Law and Conveyancing Practise. She is a committed Legal Practitioner, offering absolute expertise in her fields of practice.

Nilufer Khan

Nilufer obtained her LLB degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2013 and was admitted as an attorney in 2015 with the Right of Appearance in the High Court. She is also admitted as a Conveyancer and joined WdT Attorneys in 2022 with the purpose and intent of managing the Middelburg branch office.

Robynne van Heerden

Robynne obtained her LLB degree from the University of North-West in 2021. She joined the Litigation Department at WdT Attorneys in 2022 to complete her Contract of Articles.

Wiekus Du Toit started his Legal Career in Nelspruit over 45 years ago. He was the Founding Director of Du Toit-Smuts and grew this law firm to the largest in Mpumalanga. He remained the Senior Director until his resignation. In 2010 Wiekus decided to focus his legal practice on select clients, providing specialist service from his newly established Law Firm, Wiekus du Toit Attorneys, re-branded to WdT Attorneys Inc. in 2019. He has a reputation for being one of Nelspruit's finest Commercial Attorneys, specializing in the drafting of complicated Agreements, specialized Commercial work and Conveyancing. Wiekus holds the following qualifications:

Yvette Marais

Yvette obtained her LLB (Cum Laude) at the University of the Free State and was awarded the merit award from the Faculty of Law for Academics 2006 to 2009 by the University of the Free State. Admitted as an Attorney, Notary and Conveyancer in 2011. She was a Director with Thomson Wilks Inc. (Sandton, Gauteng) and relocated to Mbombela in 2021, when she joined WdT Attorneys in the Property Law Department where she inter alia assists with commercial property financing transactions.
