Truly dedicated to her craft, Alisa prides herself on remaining calm under pressure, so her reputation of delivering a flawless service is well earned. She loves to watch an event come to life, and play a part in its success.
Meet Carla, a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in teleprompting. Carla's journey began at ABC in 2007 where she worked in various roles including teleprompting and news exchange. Her years of experience in a fast-paced and demanding live news environment have honed her skills in multitasking and staying calm under pressure.
Carla's commitment to excellence shines through her work, especially on big, high-energy shows like Australia's Got Talent, Dancing with the Stars, and Talkin' Bout Your Generation. One of the highlights of Carla's career was her decade-long collaboration with the legendary Shaun Micallef, gaining his respect and having many laughs along the way.
The mama-bear of teleprompting, ‘Charm' is indeed charming-what you'd expect after a considerable career responding to the needs of a studio. She began in 1983, with a paper script on a conveyor belt, when ‘liquid paper' was an operator's best friend. Today she is a regular at SBS and ABC, and has worked on more programs than we can name.
Dani Cleary managed the teleprompting department of two Sydney-based AV companies before co-founding WordBirds.
Dani's experience is extensive, with a focus particularly in conference and executive prompting, having worked with the CEOs and top management of some of Australia's biggest companies, including Microsoft, Subaru and Westpac, and television programs including Australia's Got Talent, the AACTAs, Gruen and Seven's Coverage of the 2016 Rio Olympics and Paralympics.
The job that makes Dani smile every year is ABC's New Years' Eve broadcast. With the best spot in the house, she's a pushover for that incredible view and the fun crew.
Dani loves her job immensely because of the variety-when working on different events, it's never the same day in the office.
Gabrielle has been involved in film and television production her entire working life. She loves words, editing and proofreading so teleprompting was a natural fit. Her background in drama and filmmaking means she is passionate about performance, so presenters can trust that she has their back.
Calm under pressure, Gabrielle has operated on everything from TVCs to corporate events and live broadcast television, prompting for shows like The Masked Singer, Dancing With The Stars, The ARIA Awards, AGT, The Weekly and 7 Network News. Her favourite gig was with Robbie Williams Live at the Crown.
Kennie began in the Arts and NGO sectors, before becoming a senior operator at Presenter Services and co-founding WordBirds.
Kennie has operated for a vast array of productions, including some of Australia and the UK's highest rating shows: I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! (UK), The Voice, Dancing with the Stars, and Seven's coverage of the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She's also worked with politicians and executives from some of Australia's largest companies, including ASX, Lowy Institute and IAG.
Kennie's stand-out moments have been typing live script edits on I'm A Celebrity as the clock ticks down, making music TV at Channel V, and scrolling for Prince Harry.
She loves the thrill of a big show, the team environment, and the feeling that comes with helping a presenter do their best work.
Sharni's extensive background in broadcast spans 12 years, at Sky News and Channel 7, as a director's assistant, teleprompting and viz operator.
With a strong news background, Sharni is unflappable in live environments. She has worked on every election and breaking news moment imaginable, but her favourite memory is being on the studio floor for a performance by Coldplay.
A live TV enthusiast, Sharni loves working with a team of people whose combined efforts bring a show together.
Susan has more than 30 years' experience in studio production. A multi-talented operator, she has extended her skills across teleprompting, DA and graphics roles. She is a stickler for detail and doesn't miss a beat.
Susan's career highlight was working on the London Olympics when Prince William and Harry toured the studios. A studious achiever, she loves the adrenaline rush of live TV!
Suzy has over 20 years' experience in teleprompting, beginning in the UK in 2000, where she had the privilege to scroll for King Charles, Princess Fergie and REM.
What Suzy enjoys most about her work is that every day is varied; she continually meets new and interesting people, including her gorgeous hubby, whom she met whilst working on a pharmaceutical conference in the Bahamas!
Sylvia is a versatile and experienced professional who joined the WordBirds team in 2021. With a background in hospitality and travel management as well as photography, Sylvia brings a unique perspective to her role at WordBirds.
Sylvia's favorite moments in her career have been the excitement and energy of Mardi Gras and working with NITV at Uluru to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
