Prof. Brian Williams is considered one of the most influential leaders in the area of Labour Law and Conflict Mediation. Prof. Williams has worked in the field of labour law, mediation, conflict transformation and peace building for the past 40 years: within society, community and the workplace. On 1 March 2019, Prof. Williams was awarded and recognized as the ‘Thought Leader of 2018' by the prestigious Black Management Forum (BMF). BMF is regarded as one of the most influential leadership organisations in Africa. Prof. Williams is a Visiting Professor with the University of the Sacred Heart and University of Lusaka (UNILUS) in the fields of Peace, Mediation and Conflict Transformation; as well as Labour Relations and Public Administration. Prof. Williams has taught at the following universities including as a guest academic: University of the Western Cape (UWC), University of South Africa (UNISA), University of Cape Town (UCT) guest lecturer as well as in the capacity as a Ford Foundation Fellow: University of Stellenbosch (US) also as a Researcher in the field of equality law: as well as the University of Ohio (UO) guest lecturer, in the United States. In addition, Prof. Williams is also the Chief Executive of Williams Labour Law and Mediation. He is able to combine a theoretical and practical set of paradigms to the work he does on the African continent and in South Africa.
