The Audacious Foundation is a grantmaking organization that serves as a catalyst for empowering and defending the importance of childhood in Santa Barbara County. We partner with nonprofit allies that serve children beyond the classroom, ensuring all children have access to programming that enriches the whole child. We fund proven programs with simple execution and minimal reporting... The Audacious Foundation is funded by Paul and Jane Wood Orfalea. We support nonprofits that offer experiential, non-academic programs, supporting nature-based learning, healthy habits, and essential life skills... The Audacious Foundation supports a small number of both public and parochial schools as well as out-of-school programs that serve low-income communities, mostly within Santa Barbara County. These schools are selected based upon leadership, and the Principal or leader's alignment with a "whole child" learning philosophy.
