J.P. is a Houston Native that was born and raised in North Houston. He attended Northland Christian School where he started on varsity as a "True Freshman" took them to 3 straight playoffs appearences (1- 3rd round, 2-4th round). Was touted as the #1 Qb in the State for Private Schools and He had offers from Colorado & Iowa State, which coming from TAPPS was very hard to do in the early 2000's. J.P. would later transfer to Cypress Falls HS for his senior year where he won the starting QB1 spot and took his team the farthest they had ever been 4th Rd of Texas HS Playoffs! But his body would take a toll getting their and J.P. would have to sit and watch his team play after he was the one to help get them that far. Due to both shoulders being separated he watched his Eagles go on to lose to Andy Dalton and the Katy Tigers in the "Greatest 4th Round Comeback in Texas History". Although his season fell short of making it to state! He got offers from Duke, North Carolina, Missouri, Oregon,..
