Addison Behavioral Care, Inc. originally known as Addison Terrace Learning Center, Inc. was founded in 1982 as a community based non-profit 501 C (3) multicultural substance abuse prevention, intervention, and treatment agency and incorporated in 1983. Addison was the result of the United States Department of Housing & Urban Development's initiative to combat the increasing drug problems in public housing communities. Addison Terrace, located in the Hill District of Pittsburgh and the Watts community in California were the two (2) communities in the United States chosen for this project.
