Company was founded in 2016 when it took ownership of Plavi Tok Quarry near Požega, previously owned by Venčac Company. Its main activity is extraction of ornamental stone, sale of stone blocks, stone processing and production of ornamental stone tiles. Company engages in geological research with the goal of discovering and activating new stone extraction sites in Serbia.Ornamental stone extraction industry used to be very strong in Yugoslavia and it was contributing significantly to the economy of the country. Plavi Tok stone was exported all around the world - it was used for decorating Munich Olympic Stadium in 1972. Taking into the account mining potential of Serbia and the region, Balkan Mining Corporation has set upon reviving this industry by introducing standards, systems and technologies that are used in the countries which are leaders the industry.
