Dr John Honour who

Dr John Honour who is an eminent steroid biochemist, gave a very enlightening talk at our June 2017 meeting about how the gut can alter the metabolism of steroids and how this action can affect the absorption of the steroid, particularly steroids which get into the small bowel. He explained how the balance of gut bacteria can be affected by steroids. At our October meeting as a follow-on, Jacqui Mayes who is a registered Nutritional Therapist, spoke about gut bacteria and what in our diet helps good bacteria survive in their struggle with bacteria which are not helpful to us. Dr John Honour who is a biochemist and very well known for his work and research in the metabolism of steroids, has kindly written up his very well received, interesting and revealing talk at our CAHISUS meeting held in June 2017.
