Shea, the founder of Brew Ninja, originally developed the software as a prototype for a craft brewery - the first in Regina, Saskatchewan. At that time, there was a lot of texting between sales and production staff. An order would come in and it would get written on a whiteboard. Someone else would come along and, to make space, they'd erase the message. The wrong order would go out - or worse - the sale would be missed.
