We investigate how brain regions interact, both in healthy subjects and patients with neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders. We employ imaging, electrophysiological, invasive and non-invasive stimulation techniques to explore the physiology and pathophysiology of the human brain... Currently we are working on projects on movement disorders, neurodegenerative conditions and neuroinflammation, being involved in initiatives to develope and improve actual and future diagnostic and therapy solutions and optimize the field of invasive and non-invasive neuromodulation through translational paths. One of the main areas of our work is the optimisation of efficacy of deep brain stimulation and the development of closed-loop approaches. Another focus of our group is the imaging of brain networks in movement disorders and in neuroinflammatory conditions such as multiple sclerosis... We are a collaborative partner of Rhine-Main-Neuronetwork (rmn2), Focus Program Translational Neuroscience..
