Andrew Goble

Andrew completed his Law Degree with Victoria University and was admitted to the Bar in September 2017, joining the firm that same year. Prior to completing his Law Degree, Andrew was employed by the New Zealand Defence Force and served in the New Zealand Army for approximately five years. During this time he served in New Zealand and overseas, and was deployed to the Solomon Islands in 2010 as a part of an international peacekeeping force. Andrew specialises primarily in litigation and insolvency matters.

Chris Scarrott

Chris is our employment law specialist. Chris was born and raised in Hawkes Bay and is focused on providing thorough advice and practical options for clients. He has experience in the full spectrum of employment law, ranging from contractual issues to restructuring, disciplinary and performance related matters. Chris has extensive experience acting for clients in mediation and has appeared before the Employment Relations Authority. He has presented numerous seminars on a wide range of employment and health and safety related topics. Chris was formerly with Cullen - The Employment Law Firm for over 5 years, and prior to that worked for the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment where his role included providing information to members of the public on employment matters. Chris is an avid football fan and spends his weekends playing and coaching for VUWAFC.

Daniel Hilton

Daniel works primarily with the Māori Legal team having joined the practice in March 2022. Daniel also has experience in the areas of employment law, litigation as well as general property law. At present Daniel's key focus is on Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Māori Land Law. Daniel completed a conjoint LLB/BA from Victoria University of Wellington and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in September 2020.

Elspeth Horner

George Blundell

George is an Associate and primarily undertakes property, commercial, and private client work for the firm. After graduating from Victoria University in 2013 with an LLB and BCA (Economics), George worked in insurance dispute resolution, followed by private practice stints in both Wellington and Tauranga. He has also lived and studied in China, and was the recipient of a full scholarship to study Chinese at Shanghai's Jiaotong University.
