Alex Felzien joined the Mauer Law Firm in June 2019 after clerking for The Honorable Jennifer M. Phillips in the circuit court of Jackson County, Missouri. Alex graduated from University of Missouri - Kansas City Law School in 2017. During law school Alex clerked for The Honorable Stephen N. Limbaugh, Jr. District Judge for the Eastern District of Missouri in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Alex will focus on commercial and municipality litigation.

Elizabeth Crotty has worked as a paralegal since 1982, and has experience in product liability, negligence, personal injury, insurance, commercial and construction litigation. She is a member of the Kansas City Paralegal Association and was previously their representative to the National Association of Legal Assistants and the local Policy Director.
Prior to joining the Mauer Law Firm, Ms. Crotty was a paralegal for the firm of Watkins, Boulware, Lucas, Miner, Murphy & Taylor in St. Joseph, Missouri, where she mainly assisted attorneys in plaintiff cases against a large manufacturer of farm tractors. Ms. Crotty was a paralegal for Smith, Gill, Fisher & Butts in Kansas City, where she assisted attorneys in the propane gas defense group which involved litigation nationwide. Ms. Crotty was the Associate Circuit Clerk for Buchanan County, Missouri and later the Chief Deputy of the Buchanan County Circuit Clerk's Office for over three years. Ms. Crotty was a litigation paralegal for the Kansas City office of Kutak Rock LLP assisting in the defense of second mortgage lending class action cases nationwide. Immediately prior to joining Zerger & Mauer, she was litigation paralegal with Bryan Cave where she worked with Ms. Zerger and Mr. Mauer for the past 6 years.
Ms. Crotty is well versed in assisting attorneys throughout the litigation process, including drafting written discovery, responding to interrogatories and document requests, preparing privilege logs, coordinating and preparing for depositions, reviewing, organizing and analyzing documents, managing case files, using subpoenas to compel testimony and document production, summarizing medical records, developing trial notebooks, and preparing for trial.
Ms. Crotty has experience in the courtroom, assisting at trial and in hearings. She has assisted attorneys in trials in the states of Missouri, Kansas, California, Texas and Georgia. Additionally, she has assisted in litigation in many other states in the United States.

Jamie L. Walker joined the Mauer Law Firm in January of 2023 after working as a real estate attorney in Kansas City for over a decade. After graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2008 with degrees in both English and Political Science, she attended law school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where she earned her Juris Doctor in December of 2011.
