NCI is initiating and facilitating dialogue between key academic, policy and business decision-makers to find shared solutions and approaches…... At NCI, we are currently working with the definition of the Natural Capital Committee, a group of natural and social scientists that advises the Government. In their definition, natural capital refers to "the elements of nature that directly and indirectly produce value to people, including ecosystems, species, freshwater, land, minerals, the air and oceans, as well as natural processes and functions." This definition includes many different components of the living and non-living environment. It also includes the processes, such as photosynthesis, and functions, such as nutrient cycling, which link these components.
