Barry Getz

Barry Getz is a registered physiotherapist who graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2000. He is a partner in the practice Leicher, Speechly, Davidson & Partners Physiotherapy that has branches at The Centre for Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics in Rosebank, Jhb and at Linksfield Orthopaedics, Sport & Rehabilitation Centre, Linksfield Clinic. He has been practicing Sports & Orthopaedic Physiotherapy at The Centre for Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics since 2001. During this time Barry has been affiliated with the treatment and rehabilitation of numerous International and local sporting athletes & teams. Barry has also been involved as a physiotherapist to the following sports teams: Angolan Football Association (National Physiotherapist, 2013) International Rugby teams: South Africa, France, Australia, and Wales Numerous PSL Football teams and Super 15 & Super 18 rugby teams Barry's main focus is the lumbo-pelvis-hip complex & lower limb injuries, with a special interest in the hip, groin, knee and Achilles tendon. Over the past sixteen years he has established an accelerated Achilles tendon repair protocol, involved in an International Study on Effectiveness and Safety on Achilles tendons and established principles for hip and groin rehabilitation following surgical intervention. He has published and presented both internationally and locally. David Leicher

David Leicher is a registered physiotherapist, who graduated from The University of the Witwatersrand in 1990 and went on to receive his honours in Sports Science at the University of Cape Town in 1992. He is a partner in the practice Leicher, Speechly, Davidson and Partners Physiotherapy that has branches at The Centre for Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics in Rosebank, JHB and at Linksfield Orthopaedics, Sport & Rehabilitation Centre, Linksfield Clinic. He has been in practice for the past 30 years and has been involved as head physiotherapist to the following sports teams: South African national men's football side United Arab Emirates national men's football side South African Men's hockey team Highveld Lions cricket side Lions Super Rugby and Currie Cup sides - where he held the post for 16 years Over the past 30 years David has treated and rehabilitated athletes from all levels of sport, focusing on soft tissue and orthopaedic injuries. Debbie Davidson

Debbie Davidson is a registered physiotherapist. She graduated from The University of the Witwatersrand in 1992. Her involvement as a springbok gymnast from 1982 to 1986 sparked a keen interest in sports physiotherapy. She is a physiotherapist in the practice Leicher, Speechly, Davidson & Partners Physiotherapy that has branches at The Centre for Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics in Rosebank, Jhb and at Linksfield Orthopaedics, Sport & Rehabilitation Centre, Linksfield Clinic. Debbie has been working at The Centre for Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics since 1995, and currently shares her time between the two practices. Debbie focuses solely and on the rehabilitation of shoulder injuries and pathology. She has successfully rehabilitated many international sportsmen and women and lectures to both postgraduate physiotherapists and Masters physiotherapy students, on the shoulder complex. Evan Speechly

Evan Speechly is a registered physiotherapist. He graduated from The University of the Witwatersrand in 1984. He is a partner in the practice Leicher, Speechly, Davidson & Partners Physiotherapy that has branches at The Centre for Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics in Rosebank, Jhb and at Linksfield Orthopaedics, Sport & Rehabilitation Centre, Linksfield Clinic. Evan has been the team physiotherapist for the following teams: Transvaal (Gauteng Lions) and Springbok Rugby South African National soccer team Gauteng Men's Hockey Team Gauteng Swimming team Indian National Cricket team Evan is a founding member of The Centre for Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics, and currently shares his time between his two practices.

Kirsten Mortimer

Kirsten Mortimer is a registered physiotherapist who completed her physiotherapy honours degree at WITS University in 2006 (BSc Physio). Following graduation, Kirsten spent her community service year at Graytown Hospital in KwaZulu Natal, where she was involved in the running of the in- and out-patient physiotherapy departments. Kirsten then travel to London where she worked as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist (Band 6) at Kings College Hospital, St. George's Hospital and Wimbledon Physiotherapy Clinic. On her return to South Africa in 2010, Kirsten worked at The Centre for Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics (Rosebank, Johannesburg) for six years where she treated both professional and recreational athletes as well as orthopaedic conditions, both in and out of hospital. Kirsten has a keen interest in sports and is an enthusiastic runner. She has a special interest sports and particularly in running and orthopaedic injuries. She and has worked with Pirates u19 and u21 rugby teams and has also completed her OMT1 (Orthopaedic Manipulative Physiotherapy) certification in 2011. Kirsten assists on the SPT (Sports Physiotherapy) course and on the OMT1 course. Kirsten completed her Pilates teachers certificate in 2013 and now has a passion for teaching the New York method of Pilates as well as using Pilates in rehabilitation following injuries. Kirsten lives in Randburg and has completed her back-to back Comrades marathons. Over and above her love for running, she enjoys cooking, baking, good wine and spending time with friends and family.
