Dr. Ashwin Mehra

Dr. Ashwin Mehra received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from St. John's University, New York and is a licensed clinical psychologist in New York State. At Reflective Psychology Associates, Dr. Mehra works with adults, children, adolescents and families using an integrated approach tailored to the individual's needs. Working from a primarily relational stance, Dr. Mehra utilizes psychodynamic, psychoanalytic, mindfulness, Internal Family Systems and cognitive behavioral approaches, to address both the short-term and long-term goals of clients. Eschewing a one-size-fits all approach, he works with clients in identifying and applying helpful strategies for understanding and managing their struggles. He is also a Clinical Psychologist in the Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC) affiliated community health centers (LIFQHCs) and a Research Associate in the Department of Psychiatry at NUMC, with research interests in psychotherapy integration, integrated health care and training issues in psychology, and is a co-founder of the Research in Personality and Psychopathology across the Lifespan (RIPPLE) Lab. Dr. Mehra has published and presented papers, book chapters, posters and presentations in various peer-reviewed journals, conferences and seminars, and is actively involved in training residents and interns in the areas of psychotherapy and research. Hailing from Mumbai, India, Dr. Mehra is proficient in multiple South Asian languages including Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu, along with working knowledge of Gujarati and Marathi. He has an abiding interest in cultural issues, with a focus on South Asian culture, and has presented on topics related to cultural diversity, mental health stigma and barriers to treatment for minority populations. He is also a member of the American Psychological Association, Eastern Psychological Association, New York State Psychological Association and the Queens County Psychological Association.

Dr. Sally Ann Graham - Founder

Founder and Executive Director, Dr. Sally Ann Graham, earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from St. John's University in Queens, New York and she has a post-doctoral degree in Child/Adolescent/Family Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from The Postgraduate Center for Mental Health in Manhattan. Dr. Graham is licensed to practice psychology in New York State. She has over 20 years of clinical experience working with individuals of every age in a variety of settings, including inpatient and outpatient; integrated community health; school consultation; and private practice. Prior to opening RPA, Dr. Graham was the founder and director of the NuHealth Therapy Center for Children, Adolescents, and Families at Nassau University Medical Center, which was established as part of a federally-funded grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Most recently, she was the Director of Behavioral Health for the Long Island Federally Qualified Health Centers (LIFQHC) and was responsible for developing and integrating behavioral health services into existing community-based primary care settings in underserved areas of Nassau County. In addition to a commitment to working with and helping individuals and families, Dr. Graham has always been passionate about teaching psychology and psychotherapy and has been training doctors and trainees from all disciplines for over 17 years. At RPA, she has continued that commitment to aiding in the development of young professionals and has assembled a team of highly skilled and talented therapists from the areas of psychology, social work and marital and family therapy. Dr. Graham is a member of the American Psychological Association and the New York State Psychological Association.

Renee Krochek

Dr. Krochek is a NYS licensed school and clinical psychologist who earned her doctorate at Pace University. At RPA, she conducts therapy and psychological assessments with children and adults. She is also a school psychologist at a private school in Brooklyn, where she strives to help children do well academically, behaviorally, and emotionally. Dr. Krochek's experiences are diverse and include working in schools with regular education and special education students, and in inpatient and outpatient clinics with individuals across the lifespan. To accompany her school and clinical work, Dr. Krochek's research interests and publications explore the areas of parenting and child development. She is also an adjunct faculty member at Pace University.
