Combining Sam's knowledge of automotive systems with Wyatt's expertise in robotics software, the two made a plan to place a robot on an operator-driven truck, and they co-founded RoadPrintz. In 2022, RoadPrintz introduced Electra, a patented robotic system built around a Ford-550 super duty chassis that safely and precisely marks intersections, crosswalks, bike lanes, ONLYS, handicap spaces, and more. RoadPrintz is in beta testing and will take orders in the fall of 2023... As a member of his community's Traffic Advisory Council, Sam Bell was surprised to discover that the process of creating new road markings is antiquated, expensive, and dangerous, involving labor-intensive stenciling for everything but the long lines parallel to the curb and way too many workers standing in the road.
