Andrew Solodky

Andrew joined SmartLife in 2015. He has more than 15 years of experience in the sales and marketing industry. What Andrew enjoys most about his position is leading his team and working with seniors to help educate them on their long term care options. Andrew holds a B.A. in Communications from Temple University. He is a member of the Lancaster County Estate Planning Council and a native of Lancaster County.

Chelsea Parks

Job Titles:

Chelsea joined SmartLife VIA Willow Valley in March 2018. She graduated from Shippensburg University with a B.A. in Communication/Journalism and a minor in Psychology. Her previous work experience includes customer service, event planning, administrative assistant roles and accounts payable. Chelsea's favorite part about her position is meeting new people and getting to know the SmartLife members.

Devon Best

Job Titles:

Devon joined SmartLife VIA Willow as a Lifecare Coordinator in February 2018. Her past work experiences have given her applied strategies in the areas of home services and life enrichment for older adults. She earned her BSW with a minor in psychology from Kutztown University. Devon believes in cultivating relationships through empowerment, choice and respect. She is looking forward to applying those skills with members of the SmartLife program and within the Lancaster County community.

Dr. J. Donald Kemrer

Dr. Kemrer is a retired physician from his family practice in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Dr. Kemrer has served on the Board of Directors of Willow Valley Communities since its inception; from 1999 to 2014, he served as President. Dr. Kemrer is a member of the Neffsville Mennonite Church.

Elric C. Gerner

Mr. Gerner has been a member of the Board of Acts and several of its affiliated entities since 2009. Now retired, he was the former Assistant Corporate Secretary of Sunoco, Inc., Mr. Gerner also previously served as the Mayor of the Borough of Swarthmore, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Mr. Gerner serves as Secretary of the Acts Board and is the Chairman of the Acts Board's Strategic Planning Committee.

Gerald T. Grant

Mr. Grant serves as Chief Executive Officer of Acts Retirement Services and is a member of the Board of Acts and all of its affiliated entities. He has been with Acts since 1988 and previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Grant has been active in various healthcare industry and financial organizations, including currently serving as a member of LeadingAge CEOMO. Mr. Grant has a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the Pennsylvania State University and a Master's degree in Finance from LaSalle University.

James (Jim) Tracy

Job Titles:
  • Vice President of Property Management
James (Jim) Tracy, Vice President of Property Management and Services, has been a member of the Willow Valley Communities team since January 2013. Jim's responsibilities include the oversight of the Property Management and Services Teams, which includes Maintenance, Grounds, Housekeeping, Floor Care, Safety & Security, Transportation, and Renovations, to ensure the maintenance, viability, and renewal of strategic assets for Willow Valley Communities. Jim has over 30 years' experience as an Electrical Engineer, Project Manager, and Facilities/Maintenance Manager. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh and is a registered PA Professional Engineer. Jim also serves as an evening technical instructor at Lancaster County Career and Technology. Jim is proud to be part of the Willow Valley family. He feels great satisfaction in making a difference, helping others, and delivering extraordinary customer service to our Residents and Team Members.

Jane R. Barley

Mrs. Barley has served on the Willow Valley Communities Board for 29 years, most recently as Secretary of the Board. Mrs. Barley, a graduate of Millersville University with a B.S. in Elementary Education, taught second grade at Penn Manor School District for several years and was the business administrator for Star Rock Farms. She attends Grace Community Church, is active in the community and serves on the Superintendent's Council for Penn Manor School District. Mrs. Barley is actively involved with fifteen grandchildren and their sports activities and plays tennis and pickleball.

Jill E. Gilbert - Chairman

Mrs. Gilbert has served on the Willow Valley Communities Board for 17 years, most recently as President of the Board. Mrs. Gilbert is an Audit Partner with RLK, LLP with over 20 years' experience in public accounting. She specializes in audits of local governments, employee benefits, and non-profit organizations. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with concentration in accounting and finance from Elizabethtown College in 1995. Mrs. Gilbert is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the immediate past President of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mrs. Gilbert also serves on the Board of Directors of Acts Retirement Services.

Karen Snyder

Karen joined the SmartLife VIA Willow Valley team in March 2022. She brings 30 years of knowledge of the insurance industry and is passionate about creating community connections. As the Client Relations Specialist, Karen interacts with individuals and organizations throughout the senior-living industry educating on the many benefits SmartLife has to offer. She is a native of York County and currently resides in Lancaster. Karen enjoys supporting groups such as Toastmasters, Girls on the Run and Rotary.

Kendall Hunsicker

Kendall Hunsicker, a highly qualified healthcare professional, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information Management from York College (PA) and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame. Kendall is a Registered Health Information Administrator and has her Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) license.

Kiet Hong

Kiet Hong oversees all aspects of information technology for Willow Valley Communities. Kiet began his Information Technology career at Willow Valley Communities, first serving as intern from 2007 to 2009. He then departed our organization to work for a leading Lancaster law firm first as an Application and Training Specialist and subsequently as Systems Administrator. Kiet returned to Willow Valley Communities in 2014 as Clinical IT Specialist. He assumed the role of IT Project Manager in 2017 before being promoted to Director in 2022. Kiet holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Sciences and Technology from The Pennsylvania State University.

Leslie (les) W. Brant - Treasurer

Mr. Brant has served on the Willow Valley Communities Board for 11 years, most recently as Treasurer of the Board. Mr. Brant is a retired financial executive whose professional experience includes 35 years at Bank of New York Mellon. He progressed through the ranks to Senior Director, providing wealth management services. Year after year, he achieved solid results for BNY Melon and built relationships with clients and community leaders. Over the years, Mr. Brant served on various boards and committees as a volunteer, as a member, and as a chairman of several professional organizations. He currently serves on the Foundation Board of the Margaret Moul Home and is Chair of its Investment Committee. Mr. Brant serves on the Investment Committee of First Presbyterian Church of York. He also serves as a Board Member of AAA Southern Pennsylvania, which is headquartered in York, PA.

Marvin Mashner

Mr. Mashner joined Acts as an employee in 1990 and has been a member of the Acts Board since 1991. He is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Acts. Mr. Mashner assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer in 2005 and retired in 2014. Mr. Mashner is currently the Chair of Acts Legacy Foundation and the Acts Board'sFinance and Investment Committee.

Megan Henderson

Megan is a native of Lancaster County, and has been with Willow Valley Communities since 2006. She joined SmartLife VIA Willow Valley in 2014. Megan has over 20 years' experience working with seniors in a long-term care setting. She holds a master's degree in social work from Millersville University and she received her BSW from Shippensburg University. Megan became a Licensed Social worker in 2023. She oversees SmartLife's Lifecare Coordination Department along with maintaining a caseload of members. Megan loves "being able to visit SmartLife Members in their homes and build a relationship with them."

Rhiannon Ippolito

Rhiannon received her BSW from West Chester University in May 2019 and her MSW from Millersville University in May 2020. She then went on to obtain her LSW in August 2020. She has an array of social work experience with different populations. Rhiannon enjoys person-centered projects and particularly loved a project at The Hickman Friend Senior Living Facility in West Chester. She created a resident "yearbook" by interviewing all of the residents, listening to their stories, and taking their photos. Rhiannon values quality time with each individual and getting to know what matters most to each person.

Sharon A. Habanec

Sharon Habanec has spent 27 years at Willow Valley Communities, where her joy in daily interaction with Residents and passion for service excellence allowed her to assume progressively responsible positions within the Culinary Services department. Sharon also spent a few years as Director of Life and Wellness, where she developed a Corporate Wellness Team and spoke at the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce about successful initiatives for team member wellness. Sharon returned to Culinary as Vice President, and was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2022. She and her team have developed creative options for residents, including al fresco dining, take out, and a farm-to-table initiative that provides residents with an abundance of fresh, local produce and also supports our local farmers. Sharon's passion for team satisfaction and continued growth and development have been the key to the success of her department.

Stacy Musser

Stacy Musser has maintained a steadfast commitment to Willow Valley throughout her 30 years of service. Beginning her early working career in the Culinary Services Department, she quickly developed her skills and held various positions. Her next professional move at Willow Valley was in residential Administration, where she spent 13 years assisting the Executive Director and managing a team of 15 receptionists at multiple sites. It's here where her passion for customer service and her dedication to all those she served led to her being presented with the Facilitator of the Year award by LeadingAge, our Pennsylvania association of not-for-profit senior services. In 2010 she accepted the position of Director of Resident Life and Wellness where she is responsible for Willow Valley's state-of-the-art Cultural Center and our activities and wellness programs. She is proud of the team she has developed and utilizes their various expertise to continuously elevate programming at Willow Valley. In 2013, under her leadership, Willow Valley was awarded the Best 50+ Lifestyle Award for our Fitness & Wellness Program by the National Association of Home Builders. More recently, in 2015, Willow Valley Communities was a gold winner in the National Mature Media Awards Program for our Renaissance magazine. The program recognizes the nation's finest marketing, communications, educational materials, and programs designed and produced for older adults, based on overall excellence of design, content, creativity and relevance to the senior market. Stacy has a passion for collaborating with other departments and going the extra mile to enhance the overall experiences of our residents and team members.

Susan B. Allmond

Ms. Allmond became a board member of the Acts Retirement-Life Communities Board in 2015. Now retired, she was the director of strategic planning and alignment with Catholic Health Initiatives in Exton, Pennsylvania. Ms. Allmond is a former board member of Peninsula United Methodist Homes (now an affiliate of Acts). Ms. Allmond is currently the Chair of the Acts Board's Human Resources Committee.

Prior to joining Willow Valley, Craig enjoyed a 35-year career in operations management positions at High Steel Structures, Case New Holland, and Armstrong World Industries. Most recently he was Vice President of Operations at High Steel Structures in Lancaster, PA. A native of Chester County, Pennsylvania, Craig earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Management from The Pennsylvania State University, a Master of Business Administration degree from Drexel University, and a Master of Science degree from the University of Pennsylvania where he is a founding member of the University of Pennsylvania's Center for Organizational Dynamics. The continued growth of Willow Valley Communities provided Scott the opportunity to expand his responsibilities and serve as Executive Director for Willow Valley Communities' Manor Campus for 13 years. This experience gave him a greater appreciation for working directly with Residents and their families, as they navigate changing health needs and was beneficial in his subsequent role as Director of Business Development, in which he expanded our Mission to Home and Community Based Services and led pursuits of new business opportunities to better serve our customers. In his current role as Chief Human Resources Officer, Scott leads the team responsible for attracting and retaining the talent - at all levels - that allows Willow Valley Communities to deliver on its mission. Prior to joining Willow Valley, Brian held a number of marketing, communications, and sales leadership roles at various companies including Delta Air Lines, Deloitte Consulting, KPMG Consulting, Armstrong World Industries, and the National Association of Convenience Stores. Brian, a Lancaster, PA native, returned to the city to join Willow Valley after a 30-year career spanning eight cities across the United States. Jodie holds a B.S. in Accounting from Lebanon Valley College, Annville, PA where she was named to the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society, and a B.S. in Biology from Elizabethtown College, Elizabethtown, PA where she graduated Cum Laude. She has been a member of Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants since 2003. In 2012, she was awarded CFO of the Year by Central Penn Business Journal.
