From its humble beginnings in 1973 to one of the largest portable building manufacturers in Texas. General Shelters of Texas, Ltd. has enjoyed consistent growth. Founded by James Campbell four decades ago, the company has built well over 100,000 buildings... General Shelters constructs mobile, modular, steel and portable buildings for residential, agricultural military, construction, oilfield, automotive, retail and commercial applications. Early in my career I worked for James Campbell and delivered one of the very first "Port-a-Buildings" manufactured by General Shelters... As a mentor, Mr Campbell showed me the way to take care of customers and provide the very best customer experience with a product that was in its infancy. Over forty years later I find myself again working with the General Shelters team to provide our customers the best experience in spirit that Mr. Campbell still directs and created in General Shelters back in 1973.
