Patrick Wong is a Chartered Professional Accountant since 1983, presently managing Patrick Wong & Co. specializing in accounting, personal and company tax compilation, and business consulting services. Mr. Wong graduated from Simon Fraser University (SFU) in Commerce and Economics in 1978. Mr. Wong obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1983. He is also an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of England and a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Canada. Mr. Wong is awarded with The Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002 for his community service contribution, a council member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia with a Community Service award. Mr. Wong's professional involvement have included serving as vice-chair of the Vancouver Board of Trade's Economic Development Committee. He was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), Vancouver - Kensington, the Province of British Columbia (2001-2005). He also served as a member of the Legislative Select Standing Committees on Crown Corporations and Public Accounts, Finance, and the Government Caucus Committee on Education. He was appointed as the Minister of State for Immigration and Multicultural Services in 2004 while he chaired the Government Caucus' Asia Economic Development Committee.
